“Jeopardy!” Will Be Hosted By Mayim Bialik And Ken Jennings For The Rest Of The Season

September 16, 2021 / Posted by:

When Mike Richards was fired as the new host of Jeopardy! after just one day on the job, it was reported that Mayim Bialick (who was hired to host Jeopardy! specials and spin-offs) would fill in, along with a bunch of guests hosts. But TMZ reports that producers have dropped the idea of a carousel of guest hosts and that Mayim and Jeopardy! champ Ken Jennings will share the hosting duties until a permanent host is named.

Mike Richards Is Officially Out As Executive Producer Of “Jeopardy!”

August 31, 2021 / Posted by:

If you told me six months ago that the search for the new Jeopardy! host would be messier than the latest season of The Real Housewives of New York, I’d have said, “Quit your lies, nerd.” But you would have been right! Sony Pictures Television screwed the pooch, with lots of help from their golden boy, Mike Richards. Last Monday the suits at Sony announced that Mike would remain Jeopardy!’s executive producer, just a week after he stepped down as the new host in the wake of his gross podcast comments and discrimination lawsuit controversies. Surprise, surprise, Sony’s decision to keep disgraced Mike in charge behind the scenes was wildly unpopular, and this morning they finally informed Jeopardy! staff members that Mike was dunzo. Now we wait for Mike to reveal all the juicy dirt he had on Sony’s top executives. Blackmail had to be the reason they kept investing in him.

Ken Jennings Reportedly Lost The “Jeopardy!” Hosting Job Because Of His Old Messy Tweets

August 30, 2021 / Posted by:

Last Friday, the Wall Street Journal published a piece about how the suits at Sony initially wanted Ken Jennings to take over as host of Jeopardy! after Alex Trebek’s death last November. Apparently, they saw him as a perfect choice cuz he’s a fan favorite and proud smarty-pants. But then 46-year-old Ken’s problematic tweets from several years ago resurfaced, and the tides, they turned. According to Jeopardy! sources, focus groups “didn’t react well to Mr. Jennings afterward,” and his fate was sealed. And after months of guest hosts, Sony finally chose Mike Richards, the most unproblematic choice. JK JK, Mike’s past comments were even messier than Ken’s, and now he’s out as host (but please note he’s still the show’s executive producer), and the search for the new Trebek continues. Since messy white people seem to be Sony’s brand, have they tried Alec Baldwin or Lena Dunham?  Continue reading

Mike Richards Will Stay On As “Jeopardy!” Executive Producer And Has To Undergo Sensitivity Training

August 26, 2021 / Posted by:

One week after Mike Richards “stepped down” as the new host for Jeopardy!, Sony Pictures Entertainment confirmed that the disgraced former podcaster will stay on as the show’s executive producer. So too problematic to host the show, but not too problematic to be the boss in charge of everything. Got it! Apparently, Sony’s top TV executive, Ravi Ahuja, called Jeopardy! staff on Monday and made it clear that the studio still supports Mike. The New York Times calls Sony’s decision “a show of defiance that has baffled Hollywood.” Yep. Truly baffling that a schmoozy middle-aged white dude is given yet another chance. That’s literally never happened before in the history of show biz.

“Jeopardy!” Executives Still Really, Really Want Mayim Bialik As Permanent Host

August 24, 2021 / Posted by:

What is MESS!?!” is the only correct response to the Jeopardy! clue, “This is the current state of Jeopardy!’s search for a host.

When the late, great Alex Trebek died last year, Jeopardy! producers should’ve just retired the entire show and burned its set as a sacrifice to him. But instead of doing that, producers angered the Jeopardy! Gods by ignoring Alex’s suggestion of testing CNN’s Laura Coates and NHL reporter Alex Faust for the host job and instead brought out a parade of guest hosts before settling on Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards as its daily host and Mayim Bialik as host of primetime specials and spin-offs. And one second after that announcement was made, a giant wave of bad press knocked Mike Richards off of his new hosting perch and he stepped down as host. Jeopardy! is now once again looking for a permanent host. Mayim Bialik will temporarily take over as Jeopardy!’s daily host, but producers are reportedly working hard to make it permanent.

Mike Richards’ “Jeopardy!” Episodes Will Still Air Despite Him Stepping Down As Host

August 21, 2021 / Posted by:

I wish someone would have invented the serum from Death Becomes Her prior to Alex Trebek‘s passing so he could go on forever and ever being the Jeopardy! host we all deserve. But unfortunately, after Alex advanced into that Final Jeopardy! round in the sky, producers shoveled more guest stars at us than an episode of The Love Boat. Eventually, it was announced that Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards got the main hosting job while Mayim Bialik was hired to host primetime specials and spin-offs. But Mike’s new cushy job didn’t last long after several not-so-flattering blasts from the past came to bite him in the ass. And yesterday, Mike announced that after one day on the job, he’s stepping down. But the five Jeopardy! episodes he hosted will see the light of day.
