Who would have thought that the Lethal Weapon television adaptation would have so much petty drama around it? First there was tension betweeni its leads Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford, so much so that they literally had to fire Clayne for being such a grade A asshole. I mean, he was called “an emotional terrorist”. That’s no joke.
Clayne was replaced with Seann William Scott and the show was picked up for a third season. Well, the behind-the-scenes drama continues! This time, though, the drama is being stirred up by Damon.

If you ask Clayne Crawford why he got fired from Lethal Weapon: The TV Show, he’ll tell you he’s just a humble good old boy from Alabama who tried to to do his best in the glitzy world of Hollyweird but the game was rigged against him. Now that the dust has settled on his abrupt firing, public fight with co-star Damon Wayans, leaked hissy fits, and eventual replacement by Seann William Scott, Clayne has taken to the airwaves to tell his side of the story. Clayne recently appeared on a podcast called Drinkin’ Bros (a real choice considering) and cried country fried tears into his beer about being blackmailed by the audiotapes of his being abusive on set, and how he thought he couldn’t get fired because he was playing Riggs and what’s LW without Riggs?! (Hint: It’s a stupid fucking TV show based on a 30- year-old movie, nobody cares).

Damon Wayans has finally spoken about his now-former co-star Lethal Weapon co-star Clayne Crawford. And here’s what we know: if Hollywood gave out awards for excellence in promoting a project, Damon would have been a shoo-in to win Best at Faking It. Because now we know that any enthusiasm Damon might have had for working with Clayne was as fake as Clayne’s name.
Seann William Scott Will Replace Clayne Crawford In “Lethal Weapon” For Season 3
Fox fired Clayne Crawford for allowing the spirit of Mel Gibson to invade his body on set of Lethal Weapon The TV Show. But instead of cancelling the show, Fox just burned some sage, waved it around a little and announced that it’s renewing it for a 3rd season, replacing Clayne with Seann William Scott. And they gave his extraneous “n” its own trailer and everything!

- Yes, Clayne is a name that someone gave themselves. Clayne is what Clayne got when he mashed together a family name “Clan” and his Alabama hometown “Clay.”
Clayne played the Mel Gibson role for two seasons of Lethal Weapon, but he’s not going to play it in the third season after stories came out that he’s Mad Mel both in front of and behind the cameras. And apparently, Clayne found out that Fox fired him when we all did.
