Less than a week ago, Chi Chi DeVayne, of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame, went into the hospital with pneumonia and in an Instagram Live video, asked her fans to pray for her. And in news that is ten tons of sad wrapped in eighty layers of sadness, Chi Chi died today in her hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana at the way, way, way too young age of 34.
Naya Rivera’s Body Has Possibly Been Recovered From Lake Piru (UPDATE)
UPDATE: The Ventura County Sheriff’s Dept. confirmed in today’s press that the body they found in Lake Piru is Naya Rivera.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Dept. announced that they have found a body in Lake Piru in Ventura County, CA, days after Naya Rivera went missing during a boat trip with her 4-year-old son Josey. They have not confirmed that the body they found is Naya’s and they plan to hold a press conference this afternoon. But of course TMZ has piped up and they claim that police sources told them that Naya was found this morning.
Broadway Actor Nick Cordero Has Died At 41 From Coronavirus Complications
Over 90 days ago, Nick Cordero was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles with coronavirus, and since then, his wife, Amanda Kloots, regularly gave updates on his condition. It was a roller coaster of emotions. There were good days sprinkled with a bit of hope and there were horrible days. People were rooting for Nick with hopes that he’d come out of it. But yesterday, Amanda delivered the soul-crushing news that Nick has died. He was only 41.
Vanessa Bryant Has Filed A Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against The Helicopter Company That Kobe Bryant Used
A star-studded public memorial service is currently underway at The Staples Center honoring Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant who, along with seven others, died in a helicopter crash on January 26. At the same time, it was just announced that Kobe’s widow Vanessa Bryant has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the helicopter company, Island Express, claiming they’re responsible for the death of her husband and daughter. According to Complex, the suit also names the pilot, Ara Zobayan, who was also killed. We’ve already heard that fog and severely limited visibility were factors in the crash. It was also previously reported that the helicopter was lacking a terrain avoidance warning system. All of those factors are addressed in the lawsuit.
