Chrissy Teigen Shares That She Experienced A Pregnancy Loss

October 1, 2020 / Posted by:

Chrissy Teigen’s recent hospital visit has come to the saddest possible conclusion. Nearly seven weeks after she announced that she was pregnant with her and John Legend’s third child, Chrissy and John have revealed the heartbreaking news that they have lost their baby.

Both Chrissy and John personally shared the news on Instagram and Twitter before the press could leak it, which I guess is maybe the only silver lining in this awful situation. Chrissy writes that her doctors were not able to stop the constant bleeding she was experiencing, and therefore couldn’t adequately get her baby boy the fluids he needed to survive. Chrissy had been experiencing bleeding for about a month, and it had recently gotten bad enough that she checked in to the hospital. Before that, she had been placed on a mandatory two-week bed rest.

We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough. . . We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital.  But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack.  So he will always be Jack to us.  Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever. . . To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive.  We will always love you. . . Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers.  We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you. . . We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience.  But everyday can’t be full of sunshine.  On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.

She explains that she didn’t pick out the names for her two older children, Luna and Miles, until after they were born, but that she and John were already calling this third baby Jack. Chrissy didn’t specifically state how far along she was, but she had said previously that she was about halfway through her pregnancy, so around 4 or 5 months.

Just two days ago, Chrissy was Instagramming updates between blood transfusions, and the general consensus was that everything was all good between herself and baby. But of course, nothing is ever predictable.

Chrissy also shared that she and John have left the hospital, and are now grieving their loss at home.

Chrissy and John announced they were expecting a third kid in a music video for his song “Wild.” And Chrissy later revealed that she was surprised to learn she was pregnant after she underwent surgery to have her breast implants taken out. They also put their Beverly Hills mansion on the market, because they needed a home with more space for their family. Essentially, a devastating situation all around. But Chrissy mentioned in her post about the loss of their son that she was thankful for all the prayers and good thoughts being sent their way. It’s nice that she mentioned it, but not necessary. Let’s face it, anyone with even a half-ounce of goodness in their heart is likely feeling a feeling for Chrissy and John and their family right now.
