Season 48 of Saturday Night Live premiered this past Saturday, and despite a ton of talented cast members (and Pete Davidson) leaving after last season, the show went on. And one notable skit starred Chloe Fineman in a spoof of Nicole Kidman’s commercial for AMC Theaters. SNL’s parody added another layer to the already dramatic original without even changing the script.
AMC Is Offering Up Private Theaters For $99*
Apart from not being afraid of breathing the same air as somebody else, the thing I miss most about pre-coronavirus life has been movies. Remember movies? Hollywood sure doesn’t, they’ve kept pushing back release dates for hot new titles and the industry has come to a complete stand-still as theaters hemorrhaged money amid closings. AMC Theater has come up with a private-rental idea that could bring back some life to the flatlining American box office.
AMC Will Sell Tickets For 15 Cents On Its First Day Of Reopening
Most movie theaters have been closed since March since they are COVID-19 playgrounds, but even though shit is still serious when it comes to coronavirus, AMC will begin reopening theaters in the U.S. on August 20. And in an attempt to drive our case numbers deeper into the millions, they are offering incredible deals like charging only 15 cents for tickets on its re-opening day. So you can either stay at home and watch Black Panther bareback-style (AKA without a mask) on Disney+ or you can pay 15 cents to watch it at a movie theater while putting a popcorn kernel in your mouth every 5 seconds to make sure you can still taste.
