Demi Lovato Got A Spider Tattooed On Their Head Following A Recent Stint In Rehab

Froyo fundamentalist Demi Lovato has turned a new leaf. But look out! There’s a big hairy spider under there, sitting right on top of their freshly shaved head. People reports that after coming to the conclusion that being “California soberwasn’t doing it for them anymore, Demi continues to take steps towards “putting themselves first” and recently returned home from a stay at a rehab program. As such, last week Demi wiped their Instagram feed clean, leaving just one photo remaining — a collage image of their new self, freshly shorn and ready for World Goth Day 2022. Somewhere between rehab and their front door, Demi stopped by celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo and had a scary spider tattooed onto their skull. I hope Demi wears a hat next time they go get froyo lest the cashier “accidentally” mistakes it for the real thing and beats them over the head with a rolled-up magazine.

According to People, Demi “quietly completed another rehab program last year,” which may have prompted last month’s denouncement of the California sober lifestyle they had embraced in the years following their 2018 overdose.

A source tells PEOPLE that the Grammy Award nominee, 29, has since returned home from the treatment facility and has been maintaining their sobriety and mental health following their 2018 near-fatal drug overdose.

“Demi is committed to their well-being, and throughout their life, they plan to do regular check-ins to make sure they are putting themselves first,” the insider says.

Here’s the only picture on Demi’s Instagram at the moment, proving they’re not just a triple threat in the entertainment business. Graphic design is Demi’s real passion!

Demi hasn’t shared the details of their stay in rehab (unless they’ve also quietly completed a big-budget music video recreating the experience to share with us at a later date) but they did share their new spider tattoo which Demi says is inspired by “a figure in Indigenous American mythology known as Grandmother Spider,” as if that’s supposed to make it less scary. Here’s Demi’s terrifying new house guest.

Looks like their eyelashes from last year migrated to their head! People reports:

The two-time Grammy Award nominee, 29, debuted a spider tattoo on their shaved head by celeb favorite Dr. Woo. “By @_dr_woo_. Now @alchemistamber come fix my hair pleeeease,” Lovato joked about their brand new buzzcut.

They documented the process on their Instagram Story before showing off the final product and detailing the inspiration, a figure in Indigenous American mythology known as Grandmother Spider.

“It was Grandmother Spider who taught us many things,” Lovato wrote. “She taught us about pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire and light and dark. She taught us that we are all connected on the web — each one of us having our own place in this world.”

I’m still not sold on this attempt to rebrand spiders as harmless, friendly creatures who wouldn’t hurt a fly. I’d tell you I’ve met many flies who can dispute this mythology, but I can’t because they are ALL DEAD. Tell me, can granny still knit a full Mieka sized cocoon and keep me in her basement to use as her personal buffet? I’ve read Charlotte’s Web many times and I don’t care how many millions of tiny baby spider diapers that bitch changed, spiders are scary and I do not care to see them! I feel the same way about spiders and Demi does about sugar-free cookies. GET THOSE THINGS OUT OF MY FACE OR I’M GONNA SCREAM.
