Kelly Clarkson Celebrated Finding Out Her Prenup Had Been Validated While On The Set Of “The Voice”
When she heard the news that a judge had just validated her prenup, Kelly Clarkson belted out a yee-haw so pure and true she made all her fellow judges on The Voice turn their chairs around for her. According to TMZ, Kelly’s ex-husband, dilettante rancher and former music manager Brandon Blackstock, might need to start thinking about a third career since Kelly is now free to sell the Montana ranch SHE bought. And Brandon’s probably gonna have to wean himself off the $200,000 a month teat he’s been suckling as well. Yee motherfuckin’ haw indeed!
Last month, Kelly was ordered to pay Brandon $200K per month in temporary spousal and child support (about half what he had asked for), even though their 2 kids, River and Remington, mostly live with her in LA. Bandon has retired from the music business and moved permanently to what we now know is Kelly’s Vintage Valley Ranch in Montana. Kelly was on-set at The Voice with Brandon’s last remaining client, Blake Shelton, who “recently terminated [their] relationship”, when she heard the news that the prenup signed in 2013, 5 days before their wedding, had been upheld. According to TMZ:
Kelly Clarkson’s prenup has been validated by the judge in her divorce case, she found out the good news while she was on the set of “The Voice” and let out a scream, which then gave way to a celebration … TMZ has learned.
The other judges who were there, including Ariana Grande, participated in the celebration.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ …Kelly was filming the singing competition Wednesday when she got an email saying the hotly-contested prenup was upheld in full by the judge. We’re told the prenup segregates all assets and income derived during her marriage to Brandon Blackstock.
Kelly accumulated the lion’s share of assets, including the Montana ranch where Brandon is currently living. He was contesting the prenup and wanted their properties split, along with income she earned during their marriage, but the judge shut him down.
As we learned from the previous settlement negotiations, the ranch is very expensive to maintain costing about $81,000 per month between loans made out against the property, taxes, mortgage, and insurance. TMZ adds:
As for the ranch, because the prenup was validated, Kelly — who purchased it — now has the right to sell it.
The divorce has been “bifurcated” — meaning the actual declaration that the marriage is over has been separated from the property settlement and custody issues. The actual dissolution of the marriage should be finalized within days. Kelly has been awarded primary custody on a temporary basis, because Brandon moved to Montana. It seems by validating the prenup, most issues have now been resolved.
I can’t wait for the episode they were taping when she found out to air. She was probably reflexively smashing that red button like it was a joy buzzer every 5 seconds just so she could spin around with glee.
