A$AP Rocky Confirms He’s With Rihanna And Calls Her The Love Of His Life

In the June/July issue of GQ, A$AP Rocky talks about his month-long 2019 stint in a Swedish jail, how he came up with ideas for a fashion line behind bars, and how Kanye West appealing to Trump eventually got him released. But, honestly? Snore city. I just wanna hear deets about his relationship with Rihanna. And, thankfully, A$AP Rocky delivers. He confirms they’re together and refers to her as the love of his life. Hey, maybe your life, buddy, but who knows what RiRi has planned!

Rocky knows he probably shouldn’t talk about Rihanna, the triple-A-list pop star, wildly successful fashion and beauty entrepreneur, and Category 5 cultural hurricane, but he can’t help himself. As soon as I bring her up, he starts beaming like a teenager whose crush just accepted his prom invite. I could practically hear the angels singing. “The love of my life,” he calls her. “My lady.”

Rocky won’t divulge too many details about the timeline of their relationship, but the interviewer, Samuel Hine, points out that rumors have been swirling since he opened for her Diamonds World Tour in 2013. He asks A$AP Rocky what it’s like to be in a relationship:

“So much better,” Rocky replies without hesitation. “So much better when you got the One. She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones.” New-world shit, indeed. Rocky is among our culture’s most unabashed ladies’ men, but he says he’s comfortable embracing monogamy: “I think when you know, you know. She’s the One.”

Ohhh, now we’re throwing around words like “the One!” Okaaay, wow. But remember, that kind of pretty talk didn’t help Drake stick with the Queen, so absolutely nothing is set in stone.

Rocky also talked about vacationing with Rihanna in Barbados last year. That’s where Rihanna and Rocky’s fathers are from:

“It was like a homecoming thing,” he says. “It was crazy. I always imagined what it would be like for my dad, before he came to America. And I got to visit those places, and believe it or not, there was something nostalgic about it. It was foreign but familiar.”

Then the interviewer asks A$AP Rocky if he’s ready to be a dad:

“If that’s in my destiny, absolutely,” he replies. “I think I’m already a dad! All these motherfuckers are already my sons—whatchu talkin’ ’bout!” He laughs and then starts choosing his words carefully: “Nah, but like, I think I’d be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad. I would have a very fly child. Very.”

Hmmm, looks like somebody read that Rihanna wants a fleet of children! I’m glad he’s doing his research.

A$AP  Rocky goes on to share what he did in 2020, and it’s quite different than what the rest of us did (couch, sleep, computer, TV, repeat). He and Rihanna took a tour bus from LA. to NYC and stopped in Texas, Memphis, another half-dozen cities, and a few national parks. Apparently, Rocky dropped acid and made his own clothes on the bus.

He also hints that Rihanna has influenced his new music, and says she’s a good person to bounce “creative juices and ideas off of.” I’ll bet. Now can you return the favor and get RiRi started on some new music of her own? Seriously, us fans are parched! Wild Thoughts can only sustain me for so long…
