Open Post: Hosted By Paula Abdul Calling Simon Cowell “The STD”

Paula Abdul may not be able to name a single winner of the rebooted American Idol but that doesn’t mean she’s going to turn down a check from them! After country singer and judge, Luke Bryan, revealed yesterday that he had contracted COVID-19, it was announced that Paula would fill in for him when the show started the first live shows. She sure filled that space; using her return to the Idol stage to call former original judge Simon Cowell “the STD.”

Entertainment Tonight says Ryan Seacrest decided to get the old gang back together. Ryan of course hosted the original series of American Idol with Paula, Simon, and Randy Jackson as judges. So he FaceTimed Mr. Randy Jackson and he and Paula kiki’d on live TV. Bad choice. Paula Abdul makes up plane crashes when she’s on-script. You don’t wanna let her vamp. Randy was so excited to see Paula and said “It feels like old times, doesn’t it?” to which Paula replied:

“Yes it does. We’re just missing the STD!”

Ryan must have had a whiplash-like flashback to the early days of Idol when he’d regularly have to hop back on track after one of Paula’s comments and asked “The what?!” But Paula knew how to cover herself too, replying:

“Super talented, debonair.”

Here’s the moment in all its cringing glory:

Can’t wait for them to have Paula back. She should perform next time, just don’t give her any props or you’ll have more judges benched from sickness and injury after she almost beheads Katy Perry with one of her hat tricks.
