The Internet Wasn’t Exactly Feeling Lady Gaga’s Attempt To Go Country For Joe Biden
No, you’re not looking at a picture taken of Gwen Stefani at her and Blake Shelton’s engagement party. It’s Lady Gaga dressed in Lady Gaga’s best interpretation of “Real America” to let everyone know how she’s voting come November 3rd, which she didn’t really have to do, considering we all probably could have guessed with 100% accuracy that it wasn’t for Donald Trump. She really wanted to push that a vote for Joe Biden was a vote for America. But maybe she should have left those artificial country girl vibes back in the Joanne era because her little voting video quickly got dragged online.
Lady Gaga posted her pro-Biden voting message to Twitter on Saturday while dressed up in camo and clutching a can of beer in front of a truck. Lady Gaga said:
“Hey, this is Lady Gaga. I’m voting for America, which means I’m voting for Joe Biden. And if you live in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Florida, or Arizona, I encourage you to vote. And if you have a friend that lives there, tell them to vote.”

Lady Gaga is a Golden Globe Best Actress winner, and she did a decent enough job of acting like she wanted to fuck Bradley Cooper for the entirety of the 2019 awards season. But Lady Gaga’s delivery of “I’m voting for America” was so wooden, a person from the actual Yee Haw Delegation could have used it to build a moonshine shed. That alone makes me feel like this was all a bit of a joke on Lady Gaga’s part. The internet, on the other hand, thought Lady Gaga was being sincere in the most insincere way, and they let it be known in her mentions that they thought she was pandering. Others wondered why Lady Gaga was trying to market herself to a demographic that doesn’t really follow her in the first place.

And because it’s the internet, her mentions are also flooded with pro-Trump bots and right-wing haters. I’ll be honest, I’m still surprised her Twitter responses aren’t just people dragging her for cracking a Coors, taking one sip, and whipping it on the ground. Also, I grew up around various country peoples, from hick to hillbilly to sledneck and every redneck in between, and I don’t remember too many farm types accessorizing their camo with cybergoth boots. In any event, Donald Trump had an issue with it, but it had more to do with accusing Lady Gaga of being proof that Joe Biden would ban fracking.
…As I said at the debate – “Will you remember that Texas?Pennsylvania? Ohio? New Mexico?” I will always protect American Energy and American Jobs! Get out and VOTE #MAGA!

Lady Gaga replied to Trump’s tweet. Although she didn’t say much about Joe Biden’s plan for fracking, she did accuse Trump of caring too much about her.

Lady Gaga also hit back at anyone who accused her of not being country enough. Lady Gaga’s announcement about voting for Biden came just a few days before it was revealed that she’d be appearing at Joe Biden’s final campaign rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She informed everyone on Instagram that Pittsburgh was where she would fly into when she visited her grandma. She also claims that she once lived in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, which is about two hours from Philadelphia. Joe Biden is from Scranton.

That’s a pic of me in Pennsylvania when I lived in Lancaster. I LOVE THIS STATE. I’m here now! This place is filled with good hearted people—good hearted people that @JoeBiden loves. He’s a good friend. He’s the President this country needs to bring us back together. #vote #Biden pic.twitter.com/3Yo4XddYId

I believe Lady Gaga when she says she loves Pennsylvania. Sure, it might have been overkill to dig out a picture of Gaga riding in the passenger’s side of a Polaris Ranger 800. But that’s still pretty understated for Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga’s arrival in Pittsburgh could have been announced with a dress sewn from Terrible Towels, riding an oversized sandwich from Primanti Brothers, asking if “yinz gonna vote for Biden or what?”
