Miley Cyrus And Cody Simpson Broke Up After Ten Months Together
Cody Simpson was Miley Cyrus’ rebound of a rebound because she got with him after breaking up with Kaitlynn Carter, and she got with Kaitlynn Carter after breaking up with her man of almost ten years (and the one she lost her virginity to) Liam Hemsworth. So honestly, many probably thought Cody and Miley wouldn’t even last 10 seconds but they beat the odds by lasting 10 months! And now the Kidz Bop Billy Idol and the Kidz Bop Wendy O. Williams are over. My thoughts are with the assistants who will have the inevitable job of scrubbing Miley and Cody’s Instagram pages of pictures of each other because these two were prolific in sharing their everlasting, errr, I mean 10-month love with us.
And Miley is celebrating her new singlehood with an 80s disco ode to letting her coochie run free!
TMZ says that Miley and Cody were still together as recently as July since they were doing TikTok videos together, but they ended things in the past few weeks. Well, this break-up is good news for tattoo artists who specialize in cover-ups.
Sources close to the former couple tell us they split within the last few weeks, and it’s unclear right now what led to the breakup.
The news of Miley and Cody being done comes right when she’s pushing a new song Midnight Sky. And after the song debuted at midnight, she did an Instagram Live where she talked about the breakup. via E! News:
“A year ago, almost to this exact date, the media tried to tell my story for me and control my narrative, and I’m just not accepting that. So today, it came out that me and my boyfriend have broken up, it was confirmed by a “reliable source” even though no one is reliable in a relationship except the two individuals that are participating in it.
But, for right now, two halves can’t make a whole and we’re individually just working on ourselves to become the people that we wanna be. Like everybody else at this age, we’re just deciding who we wanna be with our lives, what we wanna do with our lives. And so, don’t make it some drama story if next week we’re out hanging out or getting pizza. We’ve been friends for 10 years and we’re gonna continue to be friends.”
In Midnight Sun, Miley sings, “Yeah it’s been a long night and the mirror’s telling me to go home.” And yet the mirror hasn’t said anything about that hair choice? Miley also sings this:
“The midnight sky is the road I’m taking… I was born to run I don’t belong to anyone–I don’t need to be loved by you.”
If that’s about Cody, then ouch! Cody wrecked Miley’s tonsils and then nursed her back to health! Doesn’t that kind of dedication mean anything? But it seems like things between Miley and Cody are cool since he promoted her song on Instagram:
