Rita Wilson’s Hair And Makeup Person Might Have Bailed On Her Last Night
Because my taste in cinema is beyond questionable, Jingle All the Way is hands-down one of my favorite Christmas movies. So if I were to get a call from JAtW star (and also Tom Hank’s wife) Rita Wilson asking to do her hair or makeup for the Golden Globe awards, I would drop whatever I was doing, go on YouTube to watch at least three tutorials (Rita deserves at least three), and show up at least 2 hours early to do the best job I was capable of while trying not to creep her out. Fortunately for Rita, she didn’t have to tolerate the likes of me. Unfortunately, I might have been the best option, because it sounds like the person who was supposed to show up, didn’t.
It was a big night for Tom and Rita and their family last night. Tom was receiving the Cecil B. DeMille award at the 77th Golden Globe Awards last night, which means the camera was bound to cut back to Rita at least 38 times during his speech. So you know she wanted to look good. But People magazine points out there was foundation-dipped DRAMA leading up to the ceremony. The Golden Globes were scheduled to start at 5:00pm, Los Angeles time. Red carpet coverage begins at 4:00pm, and guests often arrive before that. You also have to factor in the time it will take to drive to the venue, getting dressed, and getting something starchy in your stomach to absorb all the free booze. At 1:47pm, Rita tweeted that the person she hired to do her hair and makeup was nowhere to be found. And that was a big problem, because they were allegedly supposed to show up a bit after noon.

As the clock was closing in on 2:00pm, Rita was still sans-fards.

If I had to guess what happened, I’d say either they got caught in the snake-eating-its-tail mobius strip of never-ending LA traffic, or that Rita booked last minute and her glam person forgot they had a gig. It wasn’t the last one, because Rita says she’s been on the books for four months.

Rita didn’t name her no-show by name, which is entirely too nice of her. She clearly is as nice as her husband. But being nice and petty aren’t mutually exclusive, which is why she also called her missing makeup artist out on Instagram.
People says that some of Rita’s famous friends chimed in with their version of thoughts and prayers, like Julianne Moore, who reportedly wrote, “Omg I feel u,” and Kate Bosworth who wrote, “Oh that’s the craziest feeling, you look gorgeous anyway though.” Chrissy Teigen, whose part-time job is social media drama, wrote: “I cannot go on until I know who, I have no life.” That makeup artist better pray that Rita never release a name, because Chrissy is ruthless.
By Rita’s estimation, she had to get ready for 3:00pm, and she didn’t give any updates on whether her makeup and hair person ever showed up. Probably because she was too busy yelling, “Chet! Turn off your Sean Paul CD, and help mommy create a beachy wave! And Colin, you’ve got one minute to learn what a beautyblender is.” And if Rita really did get herself ready, then she deserves her own award for showing up in anything other than a messy bun secured with a stretched out scrunchie with a facial expression that says, “Listen, I tried.”
