Tom Holland Is Playing Fred Astaire In A New Biopic
25-year-old Tom Holland is not only a web-slinging comic book hero who CGI-swings around New York City as Spider-Man. He’s also a badass dancer IRL. We’ve all seen him do Rihanna‘s Umbrella like he recorded and produced the song himself, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Tom got his start dancing in stage musicals and also knows gymnastics. So when it came time to cast a cute skinny boy to play Fred Astaire in a new biopic, the choice was clear! I mean, Timothee Chalamet doesn’t dance as far as I know, so who else could they have chosen? But I have to ask: WWFAS (What would Fred Astaire say?). No, seriously, because Fred Astaire didn’t want any movies made about him.
Tom Holland Hated That Pictures Of Him And Zendaya Kissing In A Car Went Viral
First and foremost, Zendaya is, and will always be, Meechee. But she’s also dating Tom Holland. After years of playfully denying rumors that go back as far as 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming in which she played Mary Jane to Tom’s Spidey, they were papped together making out in a car earlier this year. This was despite their best efforts to keep their private lives private. But now that they’ve re-teamed for Spider-Man: No Way Home which comes out next month, they’re having to make the rounds together and get asked a bunch of nosy questions that don’t have anything to do with Zendaya’s star-making turn as Meechee in the 2018 hit song Zendaya Is Meechee. As such, Tom covers GQ Magazine and says that the pictures of him and Zendaya going public made him sad. And just look at his wittle face! Now I feel bad for enjoying them.
Zendaya Stans Are Pissed That She’s Only In “Dune” For 7 Minutes
Dune is 2 hours and 35 minutes long, but if you’re only watching for Zendaya, then you’re in for 2 hours and 28 minutes of disappointment because she’s hardly in that shit. And now her fans are mad! But don’t worry, this isn’t like how Margot Robbie was used in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood‘s promo endlessly and then barely had any lines in the movie because Dune is getting a part two. So the director, Denis Villeneuve, has promised that next time you’ll see more of Zendaya.
“Dune” Made More Money Than Expected This Weekend
I guess you could say that it’s dune some decent box office numbers. All jokes aside, Dune is dune some major dollars, and actually broke some records this weekend (my last dune joke, I promise). According to Deadline, Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of the confusing, weird novel of the same name had a huge opening weekend for Warner Bros. and HBO Max. Not bad for a movie about…let’s see here…sand? Spices? A worm that looks like it should seriously schedule a colonoscopy? Timothée Chalamet brooding in a variety of drab outfits? Yeah, that pretty much sums it all up. Oh, and congrats to Timmy as well, who also broke some box office records this weekend.
There Will Be A Sequel To “Dune” As Long As The First One Doesn’t Bomb At The Box Office
The 2021 film Dune is an adaptation of the 1965 novel Dune, and it will likely be an effective way for some of us to forget about David Lynch’s infamous 1984 adaptation Dune (not me, I’ll never forget Sting in those leather eagle wing undies and carrot-colored dye job). But 2021 Dune hasn’t even been released yet, and already we’re talking about the second film since Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation has been imagined as a two-part film series. But if Dune doesn’t do well at the box office when it’s released two months from now, Denis Villeneuve’s plans might turn to dust.
Zendaya Says She’s Grown Up Enough To Play John David Washington’s Girlfriend In “Malcolm & Marie”
Earlier this month, Netflix dropped the trailer for their film Malcolm & Marie, starring 24-year-old Zendaya and 36-year-old John David Washington. We can’t be certain how everyone responded to that trailer. Maybe some people came away from it feeling deeply lazy for not being nearly as productive in quarantine as Zedaya and John had been. Others possibly thought, “Shoot, what was the fake cigarette budget on this movie?” (there’s a lot of smoking). But it sounds like there was a bunch of people who got outraged over Disney Channel kid star Zendaya kissing, smoking, swearing, and appearing in various states of underwear-wearing. Because apparently there are people out there who refuse to accept that Zendaya isn’t a 14-year-old girl on a Disney sitcom anymore. Zendaya has a message for those people, and it’s that she’s absolutely grown-up enough to be kissing, smoking, swearing, and getting romantic on-screen with an adult like John David Washington.
