Widow Von’Du Of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Was Arrested On Domestic Violence Charges
There’s some more RuPaul’s Drag Race-related news, but this news is a lot lot messier than the reveal of the All-Stars 6 cast. Widow Von’Du, whose government name is Ray Fry, was on season 12 of Drag Race and placed 7th. But it looks like she’s a shoo-in for first place at the Jackson County Correctional Ball because she’s been arrested for assault charges after allegedly attacking her boyfriend in her house. But some fans have accused Widow’s ex of past toxic behavior and believe this is a frame-job. Yup, much, much, much messier.
The Cast Of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars” Season 6 Has Been RuVealed
It’s here! It’s finally here! Yet another fucking season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars! The sixth season will debut on June 24, and the cast was just revealed. And, listen, there are some great queens here, but let’s be real; with each passing year, these All-Stars get less and less impressive. Nothing will ever match the wondrous heights of All-Stars season 2 Katya vs. Alaska ft. Detox/Alyssa Edwards/Tatianna. But, hey, maybe they’ll provide us juicy fights and dramatic tricks? Fingies crossed!
Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman Won’t Be Returning As A Judge On “Canada’s Drag Race”
Because everything RuPaul touches turns into a multi-series franchise, Canada’s Drag Race, the lower-budget but highly entertaining northern equivalent of RuPaul’s Drag Race, will be back for a second season. If they’re bringing back elements of the inaugural season, I hope to once again see plenty of plaid and fighting in a range of accents (west coast, francophone, Durham Region). But one element that won’t be returning for Season 2 of Canada’s Drag Race is Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman. I guess you could call Jeffrey the Merle Ginsberg of Canada’s Drag Race because he’s a one-and-done kind of judge.
Rock M. Sakura Of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Opened Up About Her Past In Sex Work
In the wake of the horrifying mass murder of eight people, including six Asian women, at three Atlanta massage spas by a confessed killer who claims he has a sex addiction, drag queen Rock M. Sakura has opened up about her own experience in the sex industry. Rock, who is Filipino-Vietnamese American, tweeted that she worked in massage up until she was cast on season 12 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She kept this hidden out of fear that she’d be slut-shamed, blacklisted, or kicked off the show. But after Tuesday’s shootings, Rock decided it was important to come out as a former sex worker because “right now people need to see, need to hear, and need to know that we need to #stopasianhate, and protect sex workers.” She says any of the victims “could easily have been me.” Continue reading
Open Post: Hosted By RuPaul’s Drag Race: The Mobile Game
If there’s one thing RuPaul loves, it’s monetizing absolutely everything. From his drag to his land to his “singing”, Ru will always find a way to make a buck. So it’s no surprise that he’s developing a video game based on RuPaul’s Drag Race. This morning Leaf Mobile’s East Side Games announced they’d partnered with production company World of Wonder to develop a free mobile game that’ll “take players inside iconic moments from the series.” I hope that includes that time Pearl asked Ru if there was something on his face. That’s the most iconic moment I can think of.
Disqualified “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Contestant Sherry Pie’s Appearance On “The Tamron Hall Show” Stirred Up Controversy
Just as scores of Drag Race fans were riding high on the wave of utter ridiculousness that is UK, Hun?, a RuPaul original earworm that was performed by the queens of season two of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK (and has reached #4 on the UK charts), the recently announced appearance of Sherry Pie on The Tamron Hall Show sucked all the fun right out of the room. Sherry, real name Joey Guglielli, was disqualified from Season 12 of RuPaul’s Drag Race after it was discovered that he had spent years catfishing young actors by posing as a casting director named Allison Mossie and “tricked them into sending money and degrading photographs under the guise of being considered for roles on stage and screen.” So far, 12 people have come forward as victims of Joey’s scheme. When S12 debuted last year, Joey had been effectively edited out of the season, and Sherry sashayed off the face of the planet. Or so we had hoped.
