When John Singleton passed away in April at 51, it sounded like the cause of death was pretty cut and dry. John had checked into the hospital after suffering from a stroke during a flight from Costa Rica to Los Angeles. Then it was revealed he was put into a medically-induced coma, and not long after, he died. During all of that, his family was reportedly fighting with each other over his estate while he was on life support. There’s still some family drama, but this time it involves several people coming together to hire a private investigator who can help them figure out how the events unfolded as they did.

John Singleton’s family announced that shortly after taking him off of life support today, he died. John reportedly was in a coma after suffering a major stroke after a flight from Costa Rica to Los Angeles. He was only 51.

There was some sad news over a week ago when it was reported that director John Singleton was in the hospital after what was described as a mild stroke. Things got worse when it was revealed that the stroke was anything but mild and John was actually put in a medically induced coma. Things are now moving over into even worse territory, as now it’s being reported that while John is still in a coma his family is already fighting over all his money.

We were told that the stroke was a “minor” one and it seemed like he was going to recover. But it seems like sources got things wrong, sadly, and John’s stroke wasn’t so minor. TMZ has now updated the awful news about John with worse news. They say he’s in a coma.
