King Charles Wants Prince Harry And Meghan Markle At His Coronation, And All Five Of The Spice Girls May Reunite For It

After Prince Harry shit talked everybody and his father in Spare, I assumed him and Meghan Markle would be persona non grata at King Charles’ coronation in June. But, over the weekend, The Independent reported that, actually, Charles would be open to having his spare son and daughter-in-law at his crowning. Apparently, he’s concerned their absence would be “more distracting than their presence.” Prince William allegedly disagrees and is worried that Harry will “overshadow” the event. Um, fair enough, but do Harry and Meghan really have the ~*STAHHH POWER*~ to steal Charles’ thunder? It’s not like they’re the bloody… Spice Girls. Oh wow, what a perfect segue into our next coronation headline: the Spice Girls (including Posh!) might reunite to play Charles’ coronation concert in May!

Sky News reports that all five of the girls named Spice (“ya wanna get with us, then you’d better think twice!”) may reunite for the first time in 10 years for a concert broadcast live from Windsor Castle on May 7. The 2012 London Olympics was the last time they all performed together (well, for Posh, it’s less “performance” and more… a variety of poses). An insider tells The Sun:

“Royal organisers are super keen to secure Britain’s biggest girl band and the Spice Girls are seriously pondering a return to the stage as a five piece for such a historical event,” the source told the publication.

“Certainly, the reality is that the coronation is as special as The Olympics – a one off celebration and unique performance. There is a general sense that a reunion could happen for something this significant.”

Apparently, Mel B and Mel C are the ones trying to make it happen. Last week, Scary even hinted at the reunion during an interview last week, mentioning a “project that we’re very excited about” with “all five of us.” I guess Posh and Ginger didn’t take Mel C trashing their singing and dancing (respectively) on Drag Race UK Vs. The World too seriously.

But back to Harry and Meghan possibly going to the coronation. One might say the rift between the royals is a little like the drama between the Spice Girls. Yes, the ginger one created a rift by leaving the group abruptly, and they love to shit on each other, but Viva Forever (whatever that means)! Their love is everlasting (everlasting), like the sun (like the sun). And because of that love (or, more likely, some bullshit PR reason), Charles wants Harry and Meghan at his big celebration. Reports claim he’s asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to help “reach an agreement” with the pair so they can attend. He may even bribe Harry and Meghan into coming by offering to let them keep their royal titles. It’s Prince William who has “reservations” about this possibility, via The Independent:

The Mail on Sunday reports that Charles believes Harry and Meghan’s absence at the coronation would be more distracting than their presence, and is, therefore, prepared to persuade them to attend.

But William is understood to be concerned that his brother will overshadow the event and use it as an opportunity for a “stunt”.

A stunt, eh? Now you’ve got Meghan thinking… too bad Geri already called Chuck “sexy” and pinched his ass on camera, cuz that would’ve been the perfect way to make some coronation headlines:
