Finneas Defends His Sister, Billie Eilish, For Having A Boyfriend 10 Years Older Than Her
21-year-old Billie Eilish thinks her 31-year-old boyfriend, Jesse Rutherford, is the hottest “fucking fucker alive,” but many of her fans DO NOT like that she’s dating a man who is a decade older than her and who’s known her since she was 15. And it’s not just Billie who gets blowback; her brother, 25-year-old Finneas O’Connell, also seems to get roasted by the youth for the choices of his adult sister. He even dove into one’s comment section to defend Billie.
After officially going public, Billie and Jesse poked fun at their age gap on Halloween (while grossing many out), with her going as a baby and him as an old man. And Billie and Jesse made their red carpet debut last month. At the time, Finneas was asked about his sister’s dating life and told E! News: “Listen, as long as she’s happy, I’m happy.” But Gen Z is not happy! About a lot of things, but also Billie Eilish’s relationship specifically!
Complex says that recently, someone made a TikTok directed at Finneas and dragged his music and the fact that his sister is dating a 31-year-old. Finneas got into the comments to defend Billie.
A TikTok troll made a video in response to one of Finneas’ recent posts, poking fun at the age gap. “Well, your sister’s dating a 31-year-old man and your music is shitty,” the person said in the video.
Finneas jumped in the comments section to express his support for his sister’s relationship with Rutherford. “I want my sister to be happy and safe and she is a 21-year-old adult perfectly entitled to make her own life decisions,” he wrote.

Hollywood Life spoke to a source who says that Finneas and Jesse get along fine, and he loves seeing his sister happy:
“Jesse gets along flawlessly with [Billie’s] brother Finneas, who is so important to her… Finneas approves of this, as he really loves seeing his sister so happy and giddy. Billie has gone through such amazing changes and growth in the past few years, and she is ready to be with a man who is on her same level. She says that Jesse is the perfect guy for her.”
Billie is 21, so ask her in five years if she thinks Jesse Rutherford is still “the perfect man.” But I think the real story here is that someone has actually listened to Finneas’ solo music!
