There’s A Rumor Chrissy Teigen Wants To Do A Damage Control Interview With Oprah

Chrissy Teigen is on a mission to save her reputation, which is currently Cha-Cha DiGregorio levels of bad (Grease reference), after allegations that she bullied and wished death upon designer Michael Costello (who was also accused of asshole behavior). And a then-underage Courtney Stodden. Even though Chrissy’s publicly apologized twice, she reportedly wants to apologize some more to win back her lost fans (and her lost jobs). According to sources, the disgraced super relatable lifestyle guru/swimsuit model is angling to do a big interview with Oprah, a la Megan Markle, and Prince Harry. Apparently, Chrissy thinks she can talk her way out of this mess, and “if Oprah can forgive Chrissy, then so can the nation.” It’s true, they’ll have to. It’s written in their Constitution.

Sources told The Naughty but Nice podcast that Chrissy’s being advised to sit down, shut up, and wait out the media shitstorm, but “that isn’t her style.” Uhhhh, no shit, Sherlock! via The Sun:

“Chrissy is being advised to go into hiding and lay low. She is being told that all this will pass if she shuts up and does nothing.

“However, that isn’t her style which is why Chrissy is in talks with Oprah to do a Meghan Markle sit-down type interview and tell her truth. Chrissy is a fighter and believes that she is such an excellent communicator that there isn’t a mess she can’t talk her way out of!”

Yep, when I think expert communicator, I think Christine Diane Teigen, a woman who, even before this latest blow-up, got in trouble every other week for putting her perfectly pedicured foot in her mouth on Twitter.

Word is Chrissy is comparing her situation to Ellen DeGeneres’, and thinks the only way out of this mess is to do it on camera, specifically with Oprah, the go-to for classy A-listers looking for public sympathy:

“Look what happened to Ellen. She said nothing for far too long and now she has lost her show. Chrissy isn’t going to go down without a fight.

“Every news outlet in the world has contacted Chrissy about getting her first on-camera interview, but Oprah is her first choice. If Oprah can forgive Chrissy, then so can the nation.”

The sources say John Legend is “much more cautious than his wife,” but will support her whatever she chooses to do.

In her latest Medium apology, Chrissy wrote that she wants to speak with the people she’s hurt, and if they want to speak with her, “I am here and I will listen to what they have to say, while apologizing through sobs.” So that will 1000% be her style as an Oprah interviewee: crying like she’s the victim, go on about all the therapy she’s had, claim she’s changed, she’s healing, she’s humbled, it’s a process, she deserves her punishment, blah blah blah. And Oprah will do that slow nodding face, throw her a few hardball questions, but end with a hug and/or take both of Chrissy’s hands in her hands, look her dead in the eyes, and say, “You’ve got a lot of work to do.” And Chrissy will nod, burst into tears, and promise to do better. Then John Legend (and the kids?!) will emerge from behind the scenes and hug poor Chrissy. Then everyone will gather around the piano as John performs his insipid wedding hit, All Of Me:

Bing, bang, bong, reputation saved!
