Morgan Wallen Issued Another Apology For Using The N-Word

Morgan Wallen, the country singer who alerted me to his existence by first getting into trouble with Saturday Night Live for breaking COVID protocols then by getting caught on video using the n-word instead of by my preferred method for being alerted to a country singer’s existence which is by dressing like a magical rhinestone hayseed at the CMA’s, is sorry. Again. If that first apology he gave right after TMZ published the video of him calling his “friend” a “pussy-ass n-word” as he stumbled to his house was lacking, that was on TMZ. But the other stuff, well that was on him. But the old him. After consulting with some Black people, he’s a new man, and that new man would never!

You see, at 27, Morgan is just now learning what it means to be a man. And as a man-in-progress, he “says he’s gained an understanding of the hate his words carry and he’s a sober and changed man since the video of him casually using the n-word was published,” according to TMZ.

Wallen posted a lengthy apology video Wednesday, saying he’s taken the last week to gather his thoughts and get an education. Wallen revealed he’s met with leaders of several Black groups and listened to personal accounts from members that shook him to his core and made him realize the true meaning of the n-word.

Morgan claims he was given “hardly any time” to respond to our video of him using the n-word and that only a portion of the words he wrote for an apology were used. For the record … we held off on publishing the video for nearly 4 hours so that Morgan’s apology could be included, and we used the apology his team provided to us in full.

Wallen says the video was shot on “hour 72 of a 72-hour bender” — which he’s not proud of — and he’s been sober in the 9 days since it was taken.

Here’s Morgan’s apology which begins with him blaming TMZ for the failings of his previous apology and ends *spoiler alert* with a bible quote.

For those who didn’t make it to the end, congratulations. I wish it was me. The bible quote was “When I was a child I spoke like a child, thought like a child and reasoned like a child. When I became a man I gave up childish ways.” Miracles are real. This man managed to get through his entire childhood and adolescence in the span of 9 days! I’ll say this, thank god PepsiCo solved racism thus freeing up the NAACP to waste their time trying to help rehabilitate Morgan’s career, especially considering his criminally ugly Duck Dynasty collection for QVC wardrobe. There’s no rehabilitating that. And my god, would it kill him to run a comb through that greasy deceased possum he’s got hiding under his hat? Now he’s going to have to consult with PETA too.

At any rate, there you have it. Morgan is sorrier than ever. Also sorry — Diplo aka Thomas Wesley. He apologized for playing Morgan’s song Heartless during his Super-Spreader Bowl set.

See! Racism really is over! Just out of curiosity, I wonder what money Jason Isbell is referring to in his tweet?

Well, now that is strange. It’s an awfully roundabout way to go about it, but I guess his fans just really love donating money to the NAACP!
