Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, And Kate’s Daughter Are On The Cover Of People’s “Beautiful” Issue
Thank God for People’s “Beautiful Issue”. If it weren’t for this annual sacred tome, how would we know which humans are hot and which ones are uggos? This year, People took a wild risk and crowned two hot blonde members of Hollywood royalty (and a baby) as their “Beautiful” cover girls… which… WOW. Welcome to the new world!
Goldie Hawn, 74, her daughter Kate Hudson, 41, and her daughter, 16-month-old Rani Rose (pronounced “Ronnie”), all graced the cover wearing white, and talked about family, love, self-worth, yadda yadda yadda. via People:
“When your daughter has a daughter, it’s a big deal,” said Goldie, 74, noting that Kate had posed for the cover of the issue in 2008. “I mean, it really is.”
“And now with little Rani Rose,” added Kate. “I was so excited. The third generation.”
Rani is Kate’s first daughter. Her daddy is musician Danny Fujikawa (who’s somehow connected to David Foster’s L.A. dynasty). To refresh your memory, Kate also has a 16-year-old son, Ryder, with former Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson, and an 8-year-old son, Bingham, with Muse frontman (our girl Penny Lane only fucks frontmen) Matt Bellamy.
Goldie and Kate also got into their mother-daughter relationship:
In the cover story, Kate and Goldie talk about everything from style to parenting to sex, sharing memories and a lot of laughs along the way. “My mom gave me the floor to be able to feel confident enough to go out and feel like my life could be my own,” says Kate. “Mom was my greatest cheerleader. And it just made me think about Rani…going, ‘I hope I give her that kind of confidence,’ you know?”
Kate, girl, don’t worry. You’ll give little Rani confidence, oodles of money, and all the Hollywood connections she’ll ever need. Twenty-five years from now, when Oscar-nominated Rani has her own daughter (named, I dunno, “Futte”, pronounced “Foot”), you’ll all reunite on this cover. Goldie will either be stitched up Death Becomes Her-style, or look exactly the same. Kate will look like her mom in The Banger Sisters.
They also talked about their relationships with men, and Goldie’s relationship with 69-year-old Kurt Russell:
Goldie’s 37-year relationship with Kurt Russell has also inspired Kate. “To live up to that is really the goal,” she said. “Just the fact that they’ve been able to maintain a unit for all of us, in times of turmoil, they really are the center of all of our lives.”
Says Goldie: “When you have your children and you have a man who loves your children, that’s a very tough bond.”
Kate credits her mom for giving her good advice. “Mom always said to me, ‘Don’t you ever let a man dim your light,’” she recalled. “So I’ve never defined myself through the way a man sees me, but I can define myself in the unit that we can create together. That is what Mom gave to me.”

Last year People’s Beautiful cover girl was Jennifer Garner. The year before that was Pink, and the year before that was Julia Roberts (who’s been on the cover five times because she’s just that beautiful, inside and out). And since 2020 is the year of the Angelyne Renaissance, I think we all know who’s a lock for next year’s cover. I can’t wait!
