Scooter Braun Tried Calling Taylor Swift About Buying Her Music But She Ghosted Him
Taylor Swift acting in a passive-aggressive non-confrontational-yet-antagonistic way? Get out of here! My mind is blown. The news blew up after Taylor Swift’s Editorial in the New Yorker (aka a Tumblr post) in which she wrote about how Scooter Braun had stolen her very life like the leech frat-boy-dementor he his. Scooter just oooooooozes that big-Billy McFarland energy to me. Scooter’s company acquired all her masters when her bought her first record label for $300 million and Taylor was devastated by it.
This led to famous types taking sides, like Todrick Hall tagging himself in to call Scooter homophobic, and Hailey Bieber, Scooter’s wife, and Demi Lovato taking Scooter’s side. And now it’s being reporter that Scooter tried to make nice with Taylor after she blasted him on Tumblr, but she ignored him. Which is so unlike her, right?
Taylor Swift took the first shot when she came for Scooter Braun in her scathing Tumblr manifesto. When you strike first in war you have the benefit of surprise, but sometimes you tip your hand, and you aren’t prepared for the retaliatory actions.
The Blast reports that “sources” claim that Scooter tried reaching out to Taylor Swift so they could “resolve their differences” but she didn’t want to talk. Sources claim that Scooter tried to be “mature and private” with Taylor and have a phone call with her and “explain his position.” Also he wanted to tell her how “shocked” he was by her reaction and how he was “very hurt” by the situation. Scooter reportedly wants to talk to Taylor about “business aspects” of the acquisition of her previous record label, Big Machine Records, and “make sure she knows he’s a big fan.” The source says the “main reason he purchased” her life’s work is because Scooter “believes in her music and in her future.”
I feel like Scooter should have just made a 40-minute YouTube video where he said all this because it would cut out the middle man “source”. Like that’s you, you emailed The Blast. Create a Tumblr page and post this yourself, like come on Scoot.
And since everyone is getting involved, Sia got involved by backing Scooter, which led to the Swifties accusing her of blackface.

So listen, let’s everyone just relax a little. No one needs to be defending Scooter Braun, okay Sia? You don’t need to pick a side in this fight. You want to take a bullet for Scooter Braun? Like… maybe sit this one out Sia. Taylor didn’t talk to Scooter because she don’t have to; her fans will tear things up on their own. That rat emoji is being put to work this week!
