Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, And Childish Gambino Might Headline Coachella 2019

According to HITS Daily Double, next year’s Coachella will be headlined by Justin Timberlake, Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover), and current disaster in a red hat Kanye West.

Informed sources” tell HITS Daily Double that the 2019 lineup for Coachella will feature Childish Gambino on Friday, Justin on Saturday, and Kanye on Sunday. Uproxx points out that Donald Glover has repeatedly said that he’ll be retiring his rap alter-ego very soon, so it would make sense for him to go out on a high note, like headlining Coachella. Uproxx also adds that while HITS Daily Double can’t reveal their sources, they’re usually extremely reliable. Which means that if you like to bet on this kind of thing, put $100 on the Childish/Justin/Kanye option.

Childish Gambino has played Coachella in 2011 and 2012. Justin has never appeared. Kanye West, on the other hand, has performed at Coachella several times, and headlined back in 2011. He also has a new album, YANDHI, coming out on…whenever he gets around to that. Kanye hasn’t commented on whether he’ll be headlining next year’s festival or not. Instead he’s been too busy tweeting vintage cross-stitch phrases:

Kanye at Coachella next year makes perfect sense. The billionaire owner of Coachella has been known to donate to anti-LGBTQ groups, anti-abortion groups, and climate change denial groups (he also donated to Mike Pence back in 2006). And we all know Kanye West is currently on the Trump Train. I can see Kanye getting an entire day to do whatever he wanted, whether that be performing or just straight-up ranting. And that sucks for all the hipsters at Coachella; I’m sure there’s nothing worse than coming off a high and realizing that Kanye wasn’t leading the crowd in a chant of “molly” but “MAGA.
