Asia Argento’s Accuser Jimmy Bennett Was Accused Of Sexual Misconduct In 2015

The Daily Beast is reporting that Asia Argento accuser Jimmy Bennett was himself accused of stalking, threatening, and “sexual offenses” by an ex-girlfriend in 2015. This situation is multi-layered like an onion. Except, it’s the kind of onion you wouldn’t use in a salad, or to make French onion soup, and you certainly wouldn’t pair it with peppers and put it on a cheesesteak. This onion should be thrown in a dumpster and the lid should be firmly shut with a satisfying clang after it.

To recap, Asia Argento and Jimmy Bennett are each accusing the other of sexual assault after first becoming friends while starring in the 2004 film adaption of JT Leroy’s novel The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things. (Asia also co-wrote and directed the movie and Jimmy was only a kid at the time.) Prior to this, Asia was at the forefront of the #MeToo movement after publicly accusing Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault. Asia’s boyfriend, Anthony Bourdain, publicly supported her. Anthony Bourdain committed suicide in June. Trolls blamed Asia for Bordain’s death. Other celebrities defended Asia. It was then revealed that Asia and Anthony had paid off Jimmy after he accused her of sexually assaulting him when he was 17. Celebrities stopped defending Asia and she lost her job on Italy’s The X-Factor. Asia denied assaulting Jimmy and claimed that Anthony, who is deceased and unable to respond to this allegation, was the one who initiated the bribe. Asia’s lawyer announced that she will launch “#MeToo: Phase Two” in response to Jimmy’s accusations. She also claimed that Jimmy was the one who assaulted her. And now we’ve arrived at this accusation against Asia’s accuser. By the way, JT Leroy turned out to actually be a middle-aged cis woman who was posing as a transgender teen to sell books. There, now you know almost everyone allegedly involved in this messy situation is deceiftful above all things.

California court records reveal that Jimmy Bennett’s unnamed ex-girlfriend (she’s not being identified because she alleges that she was the victim of sexual offenses) petitioned for a temporary restraining order against him in July of 2015. She accused him of stalking and threatening her. The complaint was eventually dismissed because she neglected to appear in court.

It gets worse. In her filing for a restraining order, the ex claimed that she had previously filed a complaint against Jimmy Bennett for “unlawful sex with a minor, stalking, and child pornography.” The LAPD says that they can’t find a record of this complaint.

In the 2015 court filing, his accuser went into detail.

“When I was 17 and Jimmy was 18, he talked me into having sex with him. I had never had sex before,” she wrote by hand in the complaint. “He continued to talk his way into my life and manipulate me into doing things like smoke. His constant attempts at calling and texting with things like ‘please talk to me, I need help’ etc. caused me to answer in the past. One time he told me that he was being abused by his parents and needed a place to stay. He was 17 at the time.”

The ex-girlfriend went on to claim that he would text and call her that he was at her apartment and wanted to come in. She says that she would tell him she didn’t want to see him and that he should leave. Then there’s some alleged photos.

Bennett was also accused of threatening her with nude pictures of her he acquired. “When I was 17 and he was 18, he manipulated me into sending him naked photos of myself then caused me emotional harm by texting them via Snapchat,” she wrote.

The accuser also claimed that she was afraid that Jimmy Bennett or his dad were going to “come after” her and her mother. The accuser’s mother and Jimmy’s dad weren’t available to verify or deny any of this. She went on to say that Jimmy was potentially violent.

“He has a drug use history and after we broke up when I was 17 and he was 18, he wouldn’t stop harassing me via phone calls and other forms of contact,” she wrote in the complaint. “Both my mother and I felt in danger of our safety. Jimmy has lied, manipulated, and stole (allegedly) from me because my family is in a very poor financial condition, having recently gone through 2 foreclosures and bankruptcy.”

There, now you’re all caught up. Unless you already scrolled past this post because of the headline. And who could blame you because – yuck.
