Open Post: Hosted By The Man Who Was Ambushed By A Group Of Kittens

Here’s something to brighten your day. What’s better than one kitten? An army of kittens! That’s what one man discovered when he stepped out of his car to investigate why a solitary kitten was roaming the streets for tail like it was Jon Voight in Midnight Cowboy. He got more than he bargained for when he was ambushed by 10 more! That’s how I want to go: dogpiled by a bunch of cute animals.

The video was first shared on Reddit by a person who wasn’t actually the guy attacked by the kittens. They simply found the video and did their duty of sharing it with us. After all, the internet loves cats! Since posting it, the video has received thousands of views and comments. And they say we only like consuming outrage stories online! via Newsweek:

Recently, a Reddit post went viral after one user shared a video of a man getting “ambushed” by an army of kittens shortly after he had stopped his car to rescue one of them.

Captioned “Man stops to rescue kitten, gets ambushed by platoon,” Reddit user JediWithAnM4 shared the video on the r/aww subreddit on Wednesday.

The 43-second-long video starts as a person steps out of their car and points the camera at a small kitten that was wandering on the side of the road. As the man proceeds to pick up the kitten, the camera turns to reveal a clowder of over 10 kittens running out of the grass. “Oh my gosh, I can’t take y’all,” the person on the video said.

Here’s the moment in action. Warning: the ambush is particularly vicious!

The guy stood no chance! The video abruptly ends with the man being enveloped in kitties. This is a bigger cliffhanger than the episode where JR was shot on Dallas. Viewers across all social platforms demanded to know: “What happened to the kittens?!” Turns out the guy in the video could take “y’all”! A user in the comment section found a second video from the original victim of the attack showing that he managed to fit all the kittens in his car. After the story went viral, the Reddit user who posted the story managed to get ahold of the guy and shared his follow-up message:

Thank you to all those offering to help. Working on getting them all a good home! The kids are loving on them in the meantime and we’re fattening them up!

Presumably, he checked around for no mother before whisking them away. Some commenters speculated that someone dumped the kittens since they were so social (if so, I respectfully request that that person rots in hell). Upon rewatch, this looks like a very coordinated battle drill. Maybe that was their plan for adoption all along. Find a big human, use their most adorable member to lure him or her out, then subdue the target with their powers! Someone hire these kittens as our national military strategists! Anyway, this video goes to show that good deeds get rewarded. The gentlemen helped one kitten and was blessed a million more. So next time I see a $5 bill on the floor, I’ll make sure to pick it up. I could be ambushed by 100s!
