Kanye West Is Helping To Re-Design McDonald’s’ Packaging

Today would have been Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s eighth wedding anniversary and I’m surprised they almost made it for that long. Because I thought they would stay married for about a year before he spiraled out of control but I guess they wanted their love to be more like a limited series and torture themselves, and all of us, for many years. In any case, Kanye has found a different way to celebrate himself by returning to Instagram. Not that we missed him, but he must not be getting enough attention because he’s back again and he’s connecting with design house Muji to help McDonald‘s with its packaging rebrand.

Complex reports that Yeezy is in the process of helping McDonald’s change its appearance by working with Muji designer Naoto Fukasawa to reimagine its packaging. And we all know Yeezy has no problems helping out with styling tips because he reimagined Kim’s image from thirsty fame whore to thirsty fame whore in designer outfits. But in any case, this is merely Kanye’s way of unleashing his apocalyptic fashion acumen into the fast-food world, where nobody really cares about the packaging as long as the damn food remains hot. He probably should have designed that instead because the food at McDonald’s gets cold the second you take it out of the bag. Kanye even found a way to honor himself in a post he shared with The New York Times.

The line featured on the image is, of course, a lyric from Ye’s 2005 Late Registration smash “Gold Digger,” and the image itself is of a sandwich that appears to be inside of a clear box. Before posting the photo, West shared a since-deleted story of the same image on the front page of the New York Times.

This image is playing tricks on my mind because when I look at it all I see is a sad attempt at bringing the McDLT back. It definitely doesn’t hurt that he was in a McDonald’s Super Bowl commercial earlier this year where he rode up into the drive-thru like Mad Max and still have a brain fart when it was time to order.

Back in February, Ye and his massive boots made a cameo in a Super Bowl McDonald’s commercial, where he pulled up to a drive-thru in a Russian Sherp ATV and shades, as he delivered the now-legendary (to Ye fans) line, “Can I get uhhhhhhhh.” With today’s post, it appears he may have gotten whatever it is he was looking for. The ad also featured NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, FIFA Twitch streamer Edwin Castro, and the giant purple McDonald’s icon Grimace, voiced by Ryan Reynolds.

I’m going to assume a Kanye-themed meal will follow shortly, but it will only consist of two slightly toasted buns and that’s it, and he’ll call it The Kim. And whenever someone orders it, a McDonald’s employee will dump it in the trash to symbolize how Kim’s “career” is OVER without Kanye!
