Kim Kardashian Claims That Kanye West Once Compared Her Style To Marge Simpson, And Said Her Career Was Over

Kim Kardashian finally filed for divorce from Kanye West way back in February 2021, thus concluding a famewhore romance for the ages. Kim was losing a husband, but it also looked like it meant Kim would be losing her longtime stylist, while Kanye was losing his lifelike 62-inch tall plastic fashion doll. And according to Kim, she kept Kanye around as her stylist after they split. And it sounds like Kim would have been better off getting style suggestions from a partially-complete Fashion Plates activity kit because at least that kit wouldn’t be dragging her style and actively depleting her self-esteem. At least that’s what Kim implied on a recent episode of The Kardashians.

I wouldn’t think it’s that difficult for Kim to pick out clothes that vibe with her aesthetic. Just grab the tightest, shiniest, cheapest, or if she’s feeling zesty, ugliest looking shit, pair it with some heels and about 10lbs of makeup, and you’re good to go. But Kim can’t do that, she needs someone to tell her what to wear, and that’s Kanye’s job. Except for the time Kim went off script and decided she could pick out her own clothes for an event. Kim asked Kanye to style her when she hosted Saturday Night Live back in October. But a few weeks later, Kim was being honored at the WSJ Magazine 2021 Innovator Awards, and she thought she could play dress up on her own for that event. This is what Kim wore to the WSJ Awards:

Kim cried to Kourtney Kardashian on the latest episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians that an enraged Kanye said that her self-styled look was more Animated Sitcom Mom than High Fashion, and threatened Kim that her brown leather-look could basicaly be the kiss of death for her career. via UsWeekly:

“He told me my career was over and showed me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar,” Kim, 41, told Kourtney Kardashian during a new episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, which premiered on Thursday, May 12.

While filming her new show, Kim admitted that she was trying to cut her last personal ties from Kanye. “Fashion has always been something that I’ve always been really into. But I have never been the creative. I definitely see what I like but I have never really been the visionary,” she told the cameras. “I always just trusted in him, but it is not just about the clothes. That was the last thing we really had in common. I was always the Kardashians with my sisters. Then I was Kimye. Who is Kim K.? That is the jump. How do I get there without Kanye?”

It’s not known for sure what look of Marge Simpsons Kanye was referencing. Because Marge spends 99.9998% of the time in a green tube dress and tasteful red flats. But the internet thinks it could possibly be just a random one-off look from the past, like this one:

How in the world is that the look that would kill Kim’s career? And a comparison to Marge Simpson? Kim should be flattered to be compared to such a multi-faceted character (Marge is a 2D cartoon! That’s a whole extra dimension than Kim is working with). I don’t know why Kim didn’t just hiss back at Kanye to name the ways her career might be over. Her career as a TV star? Hello, her mother is in charge of that. Her career as a famous person? Please, tell us how that would go down, Kanye. How would Kim become so un-famous that the general public would stop giving her and her family attention. No really, tell us. Let us dream, even for a moment.
