Steve Burton Exits “General Hospital” After Refusing To Get Vaccinated Against COVID-19

Entertainment Weekly says that 51-year-old Steve Burton has been let go from the ABC soap opera General Hospital where he had played Jason Morgan on the series on and off from 1991 to 2012 and then returned in 2017. He joined the unemployment line with co-star, 50-year-old Ingo Rademacher, who played Jasper “Jax” Jacks and exited the series after also refusing to be vaccinated. Steve hopped on Instagram to let the people know and also show the anti-vax crowd how telegenic he is. He’ll be hosting a Fox News gig in five, four, three, two…–OH WAIT! They have vaccine mandates too.

Jason filmed his last General Hospital episode on October 27. The episode aired this past Monday. Surprisingly, writers didn’t write out Jason Morgan by saying that his character caught COVID-19 and has been hospitalized. No, his character may have been killed off in a tunnel collapse on Cassadine Island. And Ingo’s Jax just got sent on a forever business trip. A spokesman for the show declined to comment on the firings, but Steve got on Instagram to confirm to everyone that yes, he was killed off for not getting vaccinated.

“I wanted you to hear it from me. Unfortunately, General Hospital has let me go because of the vaccine mandate. I did apply for my medical and religious exemptions and both of those were denied. Which, you know, hurts, but this is also personal freedom to me. I don’t think anyone should lose their livelihood over this. But with that being said, you know me. I’ll always be grateful for my time at General Hospital. I love it there. I grew up there. I grew up with some of you. I’ll always be grateful. And I believe when one door closes, multiple doors open. That’s always been my perspective, so I am excited to see what the future brings.”

I’m sure the editors of General Hospital are happy about Steve leaving the show because now they don’t have to look out for him possibly sneaking in what looks like the white power sign during a scene:

So Steve Burton is crying medical and religious freedom for why he’s not vaccinated. So maybe he sees the KKK as a “religion.” If that’s the case, he should have gotten The Grand Wizard to sign his release!
