Kaley Cuoco And Karl Cook’s Friends Were Shocked By Their Split

The world of celebrity marriages was positively rocked last week when it was announced that Kaley Cuoco and her husband of three years, equestrian Karl Cook, had split up. For those who remembered that Kaley and Karl didn’t really live together for 2/3 of their marriage, this news maybe didn’t come as that much of a shock. But if you’re one of Kaley and Karl’s nearest and dearest, then you’re probably still attempting to recover your equilibrium from when you were knocked on your ass by their split announcement. But luckily for those same people, the drama might be over, and this situation might not reach peak levels of messiness for years to come. Because Kaley and Karl reportedly had an “ironclad prenup,” and that could mean a quick and speedy divorce, which Kaley has recently just filed for.
According to a source who spoke with People magazine, the break-up between Kaley and her second husband was a surprise to friends because they seemed good not too long ago:
A source tells People the couple seemed great when they last saw them at the beginning of summer and that there was no indication they were going to break up.
“In the beginning of the summer, Kaley seemed very happy with Karl. They were affectionate and seemed great,” says the source.
They add, “The split seems very sudden. It’s pretty shocking.”
Weird! I wonder what happened during the summer? Let’s see, Kaley spent August filming the movie Meet Cute in New York, alongside Pete Davidson, and I’m sure that had nothing to do with anything. A married actor falling in love with their magnetically charismatic co-star? Unheard of. Of course, I’m not the first person to bring up Pete’s name here, but we’ll probably have to wait for Meet Cute’s press tour to see if anyone’s suspicions are validated. And Pete might not be the Angelina Jolie to Kaley’s Brad Pitt, because Kaley and Karl stressed in their break-up statement that there is no animosity between them.
By the looks of her Instagram, Kaley and Karl were still putting up a united front, with her wishing him a happy 3-year anniversary in June, and him doing the same. But, all good things come to an end, and Kaley has wiped Karl from her Instagram bio. It used to read, “Mrs. @mrtankcook” (which would be his Instagram handle), but now it just reads, “Yes, Norman,” which is the name of her production company (named after her dog). Kaley also filed for divorce last Friday, the same day they made their announcement. Us Weekly says that after doing so, both parties were told to submit financial information regarding current assets and income. But there probably won’t be a fight over money since they signed a prenup.
A source close to Cuoco, 35, exclusively tells Us that the Flight Attendant star “has ironclad prenup in place.”
She and Cook, 30, were married in June 2018 after a six-month engagement, during which time the duo signed a legal agreement just in case they were to split. “Her assets are protected,” the insider adds.
Kaley is reportedly worth $100 million. But it’s not just her assets that needed protecting. Karl’s daddy is billionaire tax software tech mogul Scott Cook (okay, his job as a full-time horse rider now makes perfect sense). Karl’s daddy is reportedly worth $3.6 billion, and Karl’s net worth is reportedly $100 million. Kaley, girl! A tax software heir! Everyone pays taxes, that kind of money will be rolling in forever. I don’t care what metal that prenup is clad with. Iron, titanium – If I were her, I’d be fighting that prenup and say, “I need spousal support and lots of it. However, will I make ends meet? I barely have any money, I mean, I gave away so much of it so that Blossom could get paid.”
