Laura Prepon Is Reportedly Relieved After Leaving Scientology
Last week Laura Prepon did an interview with People magazine and revealed that she left Scientology about five years ago. Laura also shared that her husband of three years, hottie Ben Foster, had never even been involved with Scientology. Now sources are telling Us Weekly that Laura, who joined Scientology way back in 1999, is relieved to have escaped the “Church,” and that she’s on her own spiritual path. Alexa? Play “Freedom” by George Michael.
via Us Weekly:
“She feels relieved to be living life on her own terms,” the insider says of the That ’70s Show alum, 41. “She wants to focus on her own individual spirituality.”
They add that Laura is focusing on her and Ben’s kids, 4-year-old daughter Ella, and a 16-month-old son (name unknown):
“She’s a mom now and she’s moved on, and she is building her life around that,” the source continues. “Laura found her own spiritual path and no longer wants to be associated with the church.”
I, for one, am relieved. I always liked Laura as an actress, but her associations with Scientology and her That ’70s Show co-star, alleged rapist/confirmed asshole Danny Masterson, was preventing me from fully enjoying her work. Now, I dunno if she’s still a Danny Master-stan (she dated his brother for eight years), but fingers crossed she’s wised up since escaping their cult. Cuz when I eventually rewatch Orange Is The New Black I would LOVE to enjoy Alex Vause’s eyebrows, in all their spermy glory, sans shame!

And hopefully, this is the beginning of a full-on celebrity Scientologist exodus. I’m looking at you, would-be-faves Elisabeth Moss and Chloe Fineman of SNL!
