There Will Reportedly Be A Second Season Of The “Sex And The City” Revival And The Door Has Been Left Open For Kim Cattrall To Return

And just like that…. Kim Cattrall slammed shut that “open door.”

The Daily Mail claims that filming for the Sex And The City revival And Just Like That… is going “so well” that HBO Max is getting ready to announce a second season. It seems that Sarah Jessica Parker and Michael Patrick King have used their tri-named power to angle for a second season. And sources are really doing all they can to woo Samantha Jones back to New York City because they keep saying that the “door is open” if Kim Cattrall ever “changes her mind.” Considering how she publicly told Sarah Jessica Parker to eat shit, I think Kim is good with her choices.

Everyone is coming back for the new SATC show. Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Mr. Big, Steve, Carrie’s nemesis Natasha. Everyone but Kim Cattrall. And while all of us are disappointed the best character is not going to be back for the series, the people in power are really trying hard to get her ass back. Originally, the series was supposed to be a limited 10-episode event but a senior production source exclusively told The Daily Mail that SJP and MPK have more episodes planned and have left the “door open” for Kim:

“Michael and SJP have plans for this to be more than a limited ten episode run on HBO Max, so expect to see a second season announced soon… There was obviously a concern that people would miss Kim and not be engaged but the response so far has been phenomenal. And for fans of Kim, the door is open for her to return. If she ever changes her mind, she can come back.”

And this source probably has the job title of “Kim Cattrall Soother,” because they say that they’d jump at the chance to get her back on the show:

“The ladies love and value her and would love to see her on the new show. The whole point of this series is to show that friendships evolve and change over time, so Kim is always welcome to come home… If Kim’s reps called us now and said she was available–we’d book her on the first flight to New York. There’s still time.”

We get it, you’re desperate for Samantha Jones. We all are! But even without Kim, the source claims that fans will still love the new show (Hi, SJP!):

“This series is so good that it can stand on its own two feet. You don’t have to have watched a single episode or movie to tune in, the story is relevant to everyone.”

“Filming is going exceptionally well… The response on the streets of Manhattan has been unbelievable – yet a little bit challenging… The production really is a tribute to New York when the city needs it most, with the goal to bring positivity and life back to the Big Apple… This is something that everyone, especially SJP and Cynthia, are passionate about so they want as much location filming as possible.”

Yeah, I think the only way that Kim Cattrall would ever play Samantha Jones again is if they killed off the other three and changed the title of Sex and the City to Samantha IS The City. But I don’t think HBO Max’s servers could handle everyone who’d watch that. And while Kim might not be surrounded by wood while playing Samantha again, she’s still living the life while surrounded by wood wood in nature:
