Lance Bass And His Husband Michael Turchin Are Expecting Twins
Lance Bass and his husband of almost seven years Michael Turchin are expecting twins (a boy and a girl) in the fall. These two have been gunning for twins for years — 34-year-old Michael is a boy/girl twin and he wanted the same for his kids. Having twins also meant that one of the babies could be fertilized using 42-year-old Lance’s boy band sperm and the other could be fertilized with hot Michael’s. Lance’s newborn will be the one with frosted tips.
Lance and Michael revealed the big news to People and talked about having “bad luck” and going through at least nine different egg donors, many failed IVF treatments, surrogacy attempts, and a miscarriage last year (also twins). Lance says their latest surrogate and egg donor actually worked out, but they were still scared (via People):
Because of what we’ve been through the last four years, we were very cautious to get excited. And it kind of sucks because when you find out you’re pregnant, you want to celebrate with your family. You start planning their future in your head already, but we were so scared because we didn’t want to go through the pain again of losing them. We told our friends and family about the ninth week, when we finally felt comfortable. You think you’re going to jinx it or something.
Lance also talked about being gay and becoming a father. He says when he was a kid he never thought it would be possible to have babies of his own, and now he wants other gay couples to be able to relate to his and Michael’s journey and be inspired to start their own families.
The kids are due in October, and Lance is psyched because he’s obsessed with Halloween. Hence his official baby teaser trailer on TikTok. It’s a horror movie parody about the couple being haunted by twin spirits. In the end, they open up their oven and “Awwww!” Then the screen reads “Two Buns In The Oven… Coming Soon”:

Lance and Michael say they’re still mulling over baby names, and they’ll probably go with some old family names. The interviewer responds to that with, “So you’re saying that Justin, JC, Chris, and Joey are off the table?” and Michael says that maybe they’ll make that the boy baby’s full name: Justin JC Chris Joey Bass-Turchin. Well, naming the baby after Justin Timberlake is the only way to trick that ramen-headed egomaniac into acknowledging the birth of children that aren’t his, so go right ahead!
