Susan Sarandon Just Wants To Date Someone Who Has Been Vaccinated For COVID-19 And Doesn’t Care If They’re A Man Or Woman

Ah, the pandemic. Not exactly the easiest time to date. Well, not unless you’re a big fan of drinking in your underwear on the couch while donating half of your attention to a Zoom date that might end in an empty promise for a socially distanced date in a parking lot. Susan Sarandon is currently single and looking to mingle, but we all know mingling with an endless Tinder stream of untraceable strangers has been a bit of a social no-no since last March. At this point, Susan will happily date anyone, so long as they’re adventurous, and that they’ve recently been vaccinated.

Susan recently appeared on the Divorced Not Dead podcast to talk about the current status of her dating life. It’s not dead, but because of the pandemic, it’s been in a temporary coma, so to speak. Susan has been divorced since 1979 but was with Tim Robbins for 21 years until 2009, then ping pong entrepreneur Jonathan Bricklin for five years until 2015. She says that she’s gotten used to living on her own in the six years since, and that someone would have to be pretty special for her to push aside her bottle of Tylenol in her medicine cabinet to make room for their toothbrush. via People magazine:

“I’m kind of getting off on being by myself,” she said. “I think I’m pretty open to the idea of being with someone, but, you know, it certainly would take someone extraordinary to share my medicine cabinet at this point. I think that those days are over.

They could be a school teacher, or they could be a writer or they could be successful or not successful,” she said, adding they have to be “somebody who owns themselves and isn’t gonna be intimidated by people coming up to [me] on the street and saying, ‘Oh my God, I love you.'”

Okay, so are you the type of person who gets a little horny for Susan Sarandon, and you’re available for a date? Before you attempt to slide into her DMs, please know that she’s likely going to ask you about your vaccine status:

“Someone who’s been vaccinated for COVID,” Sarandon answered simply. “I don’t care if it’s a man or a woman. I mean, I’m open to all age, all color. And those for me, those things are just details. But what I’m interested in is someone who wants to be adventuresome.”

Some might argue that the real adventure lies in dating someone who hasn’t been vaccinated for COVID-19 and navigating all that goes with that. Like deciding whether to kiss them, knowing full well they just told you they’ve been inside a Costco twice in the past week while their mask slips below their nose. And even then, you’ll still be filled with self-doubt, wondering if Susan likes you for you, or for your vaccination record. And then even when you’re past that, your heart will still be racing, anxiously waiting for her to ask the inevitable question: “So what are your thoughts on Debra Messing?
