Susan Sarandon And Debra Messing Are Fighting Over Politics Again

Ryan Murphy, take notes: you’ve just been given more material to work with in the event you proceed with Feud: Red Hair, White Ladies, and Twitter Blue. Susan Sarandon and Debra Messing fought over politics in 2016, got back into it in 2017, and they’re still fighting in 2018.

Yesterday, Variety published an interview conducted at TIFF with Susan for her movie Viper Club. Susan was asked to grade Trump’s presidency so far, which she couldn’t do (she suggested he “start all over“). But she gave him credit for, what she believes, unintentionally inspiring more women and people of color to run for office, and that things had to get so bad before “real change” could happen.

Debra, of course, dragged Susan up and down the timeline by her Feel the Bern pin. During the election, Susan was an Anyone But Hillary type, and Debra brought that back up as she ripped into her for giving a compliment to Trump, even a backhanded one. She also accused Susan of being part of the Trump problem dating back to two years ago.

Debra didn’t @ Susan directly, so either someone must have informed Susan that the fight was back on and to aim for the face, or Susan has some kind of sixth sense for social media drama. Susan hit Debra with an insincere nickname and accused Debs of jumping to conclusions.

Debra has yet to respond, but when she does, please oh please let her start her tweet with a smug: “Sure, Susie.” Both Debra and Susan were really feeling feisty. Not only did they slap at each other, Variety also got thrown under the bus. Although honestly, when it comes to this fight, under a bus is probably the safest place to be.
