Kaopectate!

No, this post is not sponsored by Kaopectate. Although, every post of mine should be sponsored by Kaopectate since they’re all a shitty mess. But the anti-diarrhea med is getting today’s HSOTD tribute, because it’s Golden Globes Sunday, and Kaopectate is part of Golden Globes history! And no, I’m not talking about how we all told the Golden Globes that they need to take some Kaopectate after they released their mostly-shitty nominees for this year’s ceremony. I’m talking about the time that Brad Pitt shouted out Kaopectate in his acceptance speech.

At the 1996 Golden Globes, Brad Pitt was up for Best Performance By An Actor In A Supporting Role In A Motion Picture along with Ed Harris (Apollo 13), John Leguizamo (To Wong Foo), Tim Roth (Rob Roy), and K*v*n S*ac*y (The Usual Suspects). When presenters Alicia Silverstone and Laurence Fishburne announced that Brad Pitt won for 12 Monkeys, he got up on stage and the first tricked he thanked was Kaopectate!

“I’d like to thank the makers of Kaopectate. They’ve done a great service for their fellow man.”

Brad gave Kaopectate another shout out later in his speech, and then gave us something from The Department Of That Didn’t Age Well by calling his girlfriend at the time, Gwyneth Paltrow, the love of his life and his angel. LIES! We all know that the love of Brad Pitt’s life is Kaopectate! Here’s Brad showing his love for Kaopectate while working the go-to 90s formalwear outfit of a black suit and a white shirt with no tie:

And well, Kaopectate could be the star of tonight’s Golden Globes too. Because if Emily In Paris wins one award, proving that their alleged bribery paid off, then we’ll all down some Kaopectate to deal with that load of crap.
