BREAKING NEWS: The Rock And Tyrese Have “Peaced Up”

December 2, 2020 / Posted by:

That tequila and ham scented tropical breeze you just felt was The Rock exhaling in relief over the end of the years-long feud between himself and his former Fast & Furious cast-mate Tyrese Gibson. According to Page Six, Tyrese says he and The Rock recently spoke on the phone and have squashed the beef, so to speak, betwixt their furious buttocks. Thanks to Tyrese’s magnanimity, The Rock’s been let off the hook and can now go forth and prosper without the dreaded specter of Tyrese’s disappointment lingering over his head. The Rock is finally free! Up next, world peace? It’s almost as if anything is possible now.

According to Page Six, Tyese recently appeared on a show called Stir Crazy with Josh Horowitz and gave an important update to the long-simmering feud between himself and the 8 X 10 glossy picture of The Rock he keeps taped to the inside of his locker.

“Me and ‘The Rock’ peaced up, by the way,” he revealed. “We talked for like four hours about three weeks ago.”

He added: “It was great.”

In case you haven’t been following the Feuds of The Fast & Furious Franchise saga with the rapt attention a newborn baby gives a leaking tit, back in 2017, Tyrese was going through a bit of a rough patch, personally and financially. While his troubles were varied and many, none were as enduring as his contempt for the Rock for accepting a spin-off opportunity for his Fast character, Luke Hobbs, effectively breaking up the Fast Family like a deadbeat dad who turns around and starts a new, more attractive family with Jason Statham. Page Six reports:

Tyrese Gibson is opening up about his feud with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

A beef developed between the two “Fast and Furious” franchise stars a few years ago when Gibson, now 41, voiced his displeasure at Johnson’s character receiving a spin-off from the popular automobile-themed franchise in “Hobbs & Shaw.”

“Congratulations to The Rock and your brother in law aka 7 Bucks producing partner for making The Fast and the Furious franchise about YOU,” the singer tweeted in 2017, per CinemaBlend. “And like you, DJ even if they call I will not be deleting this post – Gn folks see you in 2020 April #FastFamily right? Nah… it’s about #TeamDewayne. 3 yrs will it be worth the wait? #NoShaw just Hobbs will this be another #BayWatch?”

Adding insult to injury, the Hobbes & Shaw spinoff ultimately lapped the 9th installment of Fast & Furious movie (you move quicker in a two-seater than you do in a church van filled with a cast of thousands plus Vin Diesel) which meant Tyrese’s paycheck was delayed while Hobbes & Shaw got released. Tyrese was so mad he threatened to run away from home!

It’s rumored that the lower-than-expected performance of 2017’s “The Fate of the Furious” led producers to push for “Hobbs & Shaw” to be produced, pushing the ninth film in the franchise — one for which the whole cast would receive a paycheck — back to 2020. The film’s release has been delayed again to May of 2021 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

When Hobbes & Shaw didn’t earn quite as much as the previous F&F installment, Tyrese got on Instagram to gloat about it. But now that the end is near for the Fast films (but not for the spin-offs), Tyrese might need The Rock if he wants to make an appearance at Thanksgiving dinner with the Rock and his new family.
