Dax Shepard Broke Some Bones In A Motorcycle Accident And Needs Surgery

People says Dax Shepard recently had a bad motorcycle accident which he talked about on his podcast, Armchair Expert. The 45-year-old actor and genius decision-maker revealed that while on a racetrack in California, he decided to really go for it. As you can expect, it went poorly. He was thrown from the two-wheeled beast and broke several bones. Who do you think you are? George Clooney? I guess with Dax and wife Kristen Bell at each other’s throats, risking his life on the track is better than risking it at home.

Dax said that the accident happened at Sonoma Raceway and he takes full blame for it:

“I was passing six guys on Sonoma Raceway on a motorcycle and I was braking very, very hard–hard enough that the back wheel was off the ground for a good 100 yards. I was totally at blame. I thought I would be able to slide in between, but someone turned in and I was already under full brake and I couldn’t go anywhere… I clipped their bumper and I went over the handlebars, and I landed pretty hard.”

He called it a “little demoralizing” and said that raceway employees gave him shit for it:

“They really let me have it and I was too injured to object, so I just took it on the chin.”

Since he’s smart, he immediately went to receive medical attention at a nearby hospital. JK! He went around for two more sessions on the track after icing his shoulder and hand for an hour and a half. But then it got “too painful by the end of it,” and he had to stop. The next day he went to the emergency room and learned that his body was broken:

“I’ve been at the hospital for seven hours today. The final tally was four broken ribs, the clavicle’s broken in three places, and I need surgery.”

But don’t worry just because Dax “actively [did] something dangerous,” doesn’t mean he’s going to learn from his mistake. He has no plans to stop riding motorcycles but is probably going to take the rest of the year off:

“I might be willing to quit for the remainder of 2020.”

He shared a pic of the aftermath:

Kristen commented on the pic, saying: “Just politely shaking my head at his nonsense…”

Well, I’m glad that Dax is alright after that accident but what was he thinking? Getting into a motorcycle accident without posting sponsored content? He couldn’t even put a Monster energy drink next to his face as he lay on the ground writhing in pain? If you’re famous in 2020 and you’re not using an accident as an opportunity to sell something, what’s the point?
