Open Post: Hosted By Katy Perry As Krusty The Clown In Her Video For “Smile”

Katy Perry is STILL pregnant with a baby, but today, she gave birth to another kind of baby, a terrifying clown baby in the form of her video for Smile. In Katy’s video for Never Worn White, she revealed that she’s pregnant with Orlando Bloom’s baby, and in her video for Smile, she revealed that she’s a big fan of commercials for children’s game apps, which is what the video looks like. And if Zoloft and Lexapro needed a theme song they should send Katy a check right now, because this is it!

Katy Perry’s latest back to school Target ad of a song samples Naughty By Nature’s 1999 song “Jamboree” (featuring Zhane). And honestly, that’s all I hear as soon as the beat drops, until I saw the visuals and realize this must be an episode from a children’s show on acid.

Katy, initially dressed as a normal pregnant lady about to devour an entire pie is soon magically transported inside of a video game titled SMILE where she has to select one of three characters: a sexy tiger tamer, a sexy snake charmer, or a sad clown. You already know which two I would have selected but Katy bucked against the system and chose the sad clown. Afterward, she’s dropped into the game where she must defeat depression by smiling and making everyone else smile as well.

After defeating the game, Katy does the absolutely unthinkable; she smashes the aforementioned pie into her own face. Nooooo!!!! Why would you do that? My acid reflux prevents me from partaking in delicious sugary treats and here you are wasting them as part of your clown makeup? No bueno, Katy. You may be smiling, but you made my fat ass cry like a baby after you did that!
