Tamra Judge Says Kelly Dodd Should Be Fired From “The Real Housewives of Orange County” For Racist Remarks

Lordy lordy, look who’s forty(-four), and in hot water for saying problematic shit again! It’s Real Housewives of Orange County mess Kelly Dodd. Last time we checked in with Kelly, she was offending anyone with eyes and ears by bragging that nobody in Orange County was dying of coronavirus. Before that, she said this pandemic was “God’s way of thinning the herd.” Before that, she got engaged to a FOX News correspondent, Rick Leventhal.

Now a video from 2016 has resurfaced, in which (a seemingly inebriated, but does it matter?) Kelly declares “I don’t like Black guys! I don’t even know any Black guys”. In an Instagram Story Q&A, the recently fired O.C. housewife (I mean, technically she refused her demotion, but whatever), Tamra Judge, says she thinks Kelly should lose her job. She went on to say, “That TMZ video is disgusting! Bravo shouldn’t just single certain people out like Stassi & Kristen. There should be zero tolerance at this point.”

Here are screen grabs from Tamra’s Instagram story:

And the video of Kelly being racist:

Back in 2016, Kelly issued an apology to TMZ (and I guess…“Black guys”?), saying she was “truly embarrassed” (via People):

“There is no excuse for bad behavior or comments that offend anyone. That video does not represent who I really am and I apologize for acting irresponsibly”

On the surface, this story is a no-brainer… fire Kelly! After all, Bravo got rid of Vanderpump Rules racists Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute, and it looks like Jax Taylor is next on the hit list. However, if Andy Cohen starts firing everyone who’s ever been racist or problematic (on or off-air), Bravo will have very few Real Housewives left.

Just a couple years ago, Countess Luann de Lesseps arrived at a Halloween party with a giant afro and darkened skin. She was supposed to be Diana Ross. And there are the countless instances of casual racism, from Housewives like Yolanda Hadid (telling daughter Gigi’s make up artist to make her eyes look less “Chinese”, lecturing Spanish-speaking movers that they need to learn English), Brandi Glanville (who “jokingly” declared that black people can’t swim), and the other “Brandi”, Brandi Redmond (she checked in to a “wellness center” after an Instagram video of her mocking Asian people resurfaced). Last season The Real Housewives of Dallas added Mexican-American Kary Brittingham, and she was immediately picked on by fellow housewife/former carny, LeeAnne Locken, who called her a “chirpy little Mexican”, among other things. In that case, LeeAnne was fired (although she claims she “stepped away” from the show).

But back to Tamra and Kelly. I can pretty much guarantee that Tamra’s call to action has nothing to do with seeking racial justice. She’s doing it because a) oh look, we’re writing about Tamra Judge, b) she hates Kelly’s guts, and c) she’s still sore about being fired. It’s also important to note that 52-year-old Tamra’s oldest son, Ryan Vieth, is a big-time MAGA supporter who’s been posting all sorts of pro-Trump/anti-“ANTIFA” crap on his socials. And a reminder that she’s still besties with Vicki Gunvalson, who… ugh, let’s not bother getting into all the things wrong with Vicki.

So, in this case, it’s a race to the bottom. But the real losers here are viewers like me, who continue to tune in every week to watch these messes in action. To quote the super-woke white celebs in last week’s PSA, “I Take Responsibility”.
