Lance Bass Says That Jax Taylor Has Stepped Away From Their Beverage Company, And He Might Be The Next One Fired From “Vanderpump Rules”

Wow, you really do learn something new every day. No, I’m not just learning that Jax Taylor has been operating at the level of awful that could reasonably qualify him for getting kicked off his reality TV show (that was common knowledge). It’s that Jax Taylor had launched a line of non-alcoholic mixers called Just Add X with Lance Bass. Except that as of right now, Jax has nothing to do with their company. He also might soon have nothing to do with Vanderpump Rules as well.
E! News says Lance broke the news about his former business partner on a recent episode of his podcast, The Daily Popcast with Lance Bass, that Jax was stepping away from their company. Last week, Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni, were fired after Faith Stowers spoke out about the racist bullying she was subjected to while filming VPR. After Bravo let them all go, Faith spoke out about Jax, saying that he should probably be the next to go, since he’s just as guilty as the rest of them. Billie Lee of VPR has claimed Jax refused to work with her because she’s trans. Ashley Martson of 90 Day Fiancé called out Jax for making a racist comment about her husband, Jay Smith. And there’s a Change.org petition urging Bravo to fire him.
Jax still has a job at SUR. But Lance won’t be SUR-prised if Jax is also let go from the show. Lance didn’t give a specific reason for why he was ending his business relationship with Jax, but he implied it pretty much had everything to with the ongoing fallout associated with the VPR cast.
“It’s gonna cost him everything. And he’s stepping down from Just Add X, which you know, we have to. You know, we can’t be involved and associated with any of this going down. We have to do the right thing.
He will lose out. Look, I do not see Bravo keeping him. I have a feeling, soon, [Vanderpump Rules] it’s gonna be done because this will get bigger and bigger.”
Jax’s rep responded saying that the Just Ad X Instagram page, which is now set to private, was hacked and filled with hateful comments. Jax has also side-eyed Lance’s choice to talk about the situation publicly, and is denying that Jax is officially done with Just Add X.
“Last week the Just Add X website had been hacked, showcasing some hateful slurs, which Jax felt horrible about. In an emotional state, Jax had texted Lance and the Just Add X team offering to step down from the company if that was the direction they wanted to take. The team immediately followed up with a phone call with Lance and the team reassured and fully supported him. It was decided that Jax would continue to stay on the team and that they all had his back given these unpredictable times.
The statements from Lance on the podcast today are not only untrue but also extremely confusing and shocking to say the least. Jax is still very much a partner and founder of Just Add X and supports the team and the brand whole-heartedly. This has been a tough time for everyone involved, especially with the critical state of Brittany’s mother in the ICU, their focus has been on that.”
Brittany is Jax’s wife of almost a year. Jax deflecting with a very sick mother-in-law feels like a trick picked up from whoever is handling Stassi’s damage control campaign.
And while Jax might be able to play dumb when it comes to wondering why Lance talked about him on his own podcast, he can’t act like Lance didn’t talk to him about his behavior. Lance says that he addressed the comments he made to 90 Day Fiancé’s Ashley, whose husband Jay is from Jamaica. Jax had allegedly commented that Jay’s nose was bigger than his head, and Lance says Jax just didn’t understand why it was racist. via Us Weekly:
“I actually had a conversation about this yesterday and I feel like I’m the only person he heard it from. He’s like, ‘I don’t understand this big nose thing.’ He goes, ‘Jewish people have big noses.’ Yeah – you can’t make fun of Jewish people or Black people by their nose.”
“The fact that a grown man in his 40s doesn’t know now that it’s racist to comment on a Black person’s big nose, especially on a public platform for everyone to see? There’s no excuse for that. You know that’s wrong,” [Lance’s husband] Michael Turchin replied, adding that Jax has also said “very ignorant, homophobic things.”
They didn’t get into what kind of ignorant, homophobic things Jax allegedly said. But he’s got nerve saying homophobic stuff to his gay business partner, who also just so happens to be pop music icon, Lance Bass. I don’t want to know what he said. But if I had to guess what kind of hateful, ignorant thing Jax said to Lance and Michael, it might be: “Why would you want to buy the Brady Bunch house? That show was stupid.”
