Kelly Dodd Of “The Real Housewives Of Orange County” Claimed That “No One Is Dying” Of Coronavirus In The OC

As of yesterday, Orange County in California had a total of 5,578 coronavirus cases. 131 people have died of COVID-19 in the county. But if you ask Kelly Dodd of The Real Housewives of Orange County, The OC is practically a coronavirus-free wonderland. While celebrating the re-opening of Orange County restaurants, she filmed an Instagram story of her family dining sans masks, and announced, “No one is wearing masks here in Orange County. Yup, because no one is dying here of the virus.” This is shocking to people who watch RHoOC because Kelly Dodd is known for being a voice of reason whose brain filters thoughts before her mouth hole ejects them.

Here are Kelly’s brilliant decision-making skills in action:

And she didn’t stop there, via Us Weekly:

Kelly concluded her day out with a message on her Instagram Stories: “It’s not the government’s job to protect my health. It’s the government’s job to protect my RIGHTS. It’s my job to protect my health. When you trade liberty for safety you end up losing both.”

I’m not even sure what that means, but all that “liberty” talk tracks with Kelly’s recent decision to get engaged to FOX News correspondent, Rick Leventhal (pictured above).

Kelly was annoyed with the backlash she received from her comments, so she went back on Instagram to defend herself:

Here’s what she says in the video, via Page Six:

“I was by no means minimizing deaths that have been caused by this virus, and I feel for their loved ones,” Dodd, 44, said in response to our report. “However, Orange County has 133 deaths out of 3 million people — much lower than most.”

Addressing her celebratory remarks about people not wearing masks, she added, “I felt encouraged and excited that people were out and about and there was some semblance of normalcy.”

The “RHOC” star also blasted Us Weekly for accusing Dodd in a now-revised story of not wearing a mask herself in the video she recorded on Memorial Day.

“I was wearing a mask,” she said before pointing to her mom in the clip. “This lady right here was not wearing the mask, and no patrons when we were eating were wearing the mask. The servers were, but you can’t eat with a mask on, so get your facts straight.”

This isn’t even the first time Kelly publicly said dumb shit about coronavirus. In April she suggested the pandemic was “God’s way of thinning the herd”, later apologizing and clarifying “that’s not what she meant”. Two weeks later she claimed, “Well, people are going to die! I’m sorry to tell ya.”

Somebody confiscate Kelly’s phone ASAP! I like my Housewives apolitical and dead silent on important issues. Again, this is just shocking, because this is the same mess who pulled a 56-year-old woman’s hair extensions, and then hit that same woman in the head with a mallet. She’s usually so sane!
