Felicity Huffman Has Reported To Prison To Serve Her 14-Day Sentence

Today is the day Felicity Huffman begins her – to partially-quote her former co-star Ricardo Chavira – white privilege prison sentence for her involvement in the college admission scandal. I hope William H. Macy sent her in with a signed and framed picture of himself to remind her of what she’s missing out on back home, or to trade it in the yard for a 2-pack of kitchen sponges she can fashion into a set of makeshift hair rollers. Ha! Who am I kidding? Felicity totally isn’t going to that kind of prison.

Felicity Huffman pleaded guilty to dropping $15,000 to boost her daughter’s SAT scores. As punishment, she got a scant 14 days in prison. Felicity also has to pay a fine of $30,000, do 250 hours of community service, and be on supervised release for one year. But right now we’re dealing with the prison part! People magazine reports that for the next 14 days, the only reason Felicity will be saying “ruh roh!” is when the prison cafeteria runs out of pudding cups. A rep for Felicity released the following statement:

“Felicity Huffman reported today for sentencing to the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, CA. Ms. Huffman is prepared to serve the term of imprisonment Judge Talwani ordered as one part of the punishment she imposed for Ms. Huffman’s actions. She will begin serving the remainder of the sentence Judge Talwani imposed – one year of supervised release, with conditions including 250 hours of community service – when she is released.”

As for Dublin’s Federal Correctional Institution, People says it’s a low-security, all-women’s federal prison. According to the US government’s prison’s website, Dublin FCI houses 1052 inmates. It’s also the former home of several notable former inmates, such as Patty Hearst and Heidi Fleiss, According to a source close to Felicity, she’s ready to get in there and become one of those former inmates herself.

“She’s embarrassed and just ready to get this behind her,” the source says. “She wants to serve her time and move forward.”

CNN says that inmates are given sunbathing privileges outside (so long as they keep their t-shirt and shorts on). They’re also allowed to watch TV in the common room until 8:45pm during the week, and 11:45pm on the weekends. When Felicity’s time is served and she’s out in 14 days (or 14 hours due to overcrowding), she can call up Lori Loughlin and tell her all about what to expect when she eventually goes to prison. “Oh my god, it was awful. Just terrible. The prison guard who would hand me my suntan lotion referred to me as a Golden Globe winner. Excuse me, I’m an Academy Award nominee.
