Maria Menounos Got Married On Live TV On New Year’s Eve

If you didn’t spend your New Year’s Eve watching Botoxed Elf on a Shelf Ryan Seacrest and the return of Mariah Carey on ABC or the shit show on CNN, then you might have tuned into Fox. And in very old school Fox fashion, their show featured the stunt of all TV stunts: a live wedding!

UsWeekly says Maria Menounos announced she would be marrying her longtime boyfriend Keven Undergaro in Times Square before the ball dropped. Maria and Keven have been together for 20 years, and engaged since March 2016 when Keven popped the question on The Howard Stern Show. What you are looking at above is the moment Maria Menounos told her mother Lisa that she was getting married right then and there on television. Poor Lisa. She’s obviously very happy for her daughter. But you know a small part of Lisa is devastated knowing she’s about to watch her daughter exchange “I dos” while wearing a bland wool-blend beanie instead of gorgeous mother-of-the-bride couture.

Both Maria’s parents were in attendance. She told them before the ceremony that she and Keven were ditching the church for Times Square after some inspiration from Kris Jenner, who told Maria on Christmas Eve that “tomorrow’s never promised.” I’m sure Kris was thrilled that Maria turned her wedding into a televised stunt. Although Kris probably would have advised Maria to shamelessly tease the ceremony for at least 4 months ahead of time.

The ceremony was officiated by Fox’s NYE host Steve Harvey, who looked like Inspector Gadget’s off-brand brother, Detective Tool. Meanwhile, Maria was married in a wedding gown that I hope to frost-covered hell was lined with 3M Thinsulate. It was 12 degrees in New York City on NYE. At the very least I hope Maria wasn’t outside for too long in that dress. I highly doubt she wanted to spend her wedding night watching Keven fall asleep on the bed while attempting to defrost her privates with a hotel hair dryer.
