Sean Penn Is Suing Lee Daniels For Calling Him A Lady Beater

Sean Penn has proven time and time again that he has the temper of a hungover demon with a herpes flare-up and we’ve all heard that story about he allegedly tied Madonna to a chair and beat her in a drunken rage while they were married. But if you dare call Sean Penn a violent woman beater, he’ll beat you in the head with a $10 million defamation lawsuit.

Lee Daniels, the creator of Empire, recently did an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and he spit out some shit about how it’s not right that throbbing taint wart Terrence Howard gets dragged for his admitted wife beating ways while nothing has really happened to the likes of Sean Penn:

“[Terrence] ain’t done nothing different than Marlon Brando or Sean Penn, and all of a sudden he’s some fuckin’ demon. That’s a sign of the time, of race, of where we are right now in America.”

The possessed and charbroiled Alf doll was highly offended over that and isn’t going to let it slide. The Sean Penn of the past probably would’ve handled it by whoopin’ a trick, but he’s really matured and changed, so he’s suing a trick instead. The Hollywood Reporter says that Sean’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart filed the lawsuit against Lee Daniels in NYC today. His lawyer kept his lips shut when asked for a comment, but gave THR the first paragraph of the lawsuit:

“As a result of Penn’s status as a public figure, he has for years been the subject of scandalous, scurrilous, and baseless attacks. But Penn, like any citizen, has a right to defend himself and will no longer tolerate the reckless and malicious behavior of others, who seek to aggrandize themselves or their projects at his expense. Accordingly, and because of Daniels’ defamatory statements, Penn brings this action for monetary relief, and to deter Daniels and others from their defamatory actions.”

A “source” also tells Gossip Cop that Sean is sick of everyone labeling him a woman-beating piece of trash, because he’s just a regular piece of trash, okay? Sean swears he has never ever hit a woman before.

Under the “Personal relationships and violence issues” section of Sean Penn’s Wikipedia page, it says that after he spent 33 days in jail for attacking a photographer on a film set, he beat his then-wife Madonna in the head with a baseball bat and also tied her to a chair and tortured her for hours. A police report was reportedly filed, but Madonna didn’t want to press charges. Madonna filed for divorce shortly after. Wikipedia says that Sean was charged with felony domestic assault and later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor. The part about him going to jail for attacking a photographer is true. but TMZ says Sean was never charged with domestic abuse.

Madonna hasn’t ever confirmed or denied that Sean beat her. But at her show this past weekend, she said that he wrote her a nice letter. So it’ll be interesting if this lawsuit actually goes anywhere and she’s asked to testify. And Sean Penn’s lawyer is going to be really, really busy, because I also expect him to throw a defamation lawsuit at that Wikipedia contributor, The Daily Mail, hundreds of bloggers, thousands of Internet commenters and the old lady in line at the movie theater box office who I watched say to her husband, “You go and see that movie by yourself! Sean Penn beats women!”
