Demi Lovato Will Spend The Rest Of The Year In Rehab

October 31, 2018 / Posted by:

Demi Lovato checked into rehab back in August after she was found unconscious in her home after a suspected overdose. It was reported that she’d be there for a while, something I think everyone could agree was a good choice. The general consensus was she’d be in recover for a few months, and now we’re learning that Demi won’t be out until sometime in 2019.

A source tells Entertainment Tonight that 26-year-old Demi has been sober for three months now. She’s committed to her sobriety, and doesn’t take it lightly. The source says:

“[Demi] knows she has a long road ahead of her. At the end of the day, Demi is doing this for herself. She has to stay sober for her, but every time she has family or friends visit her it reminds her of all the other important people in her life that she needs to fight for as well.

Demi is thankful she’s still alive and is doing whatever she can to never get to that point again.”

The source adds that Demi’s long road ahead involves at least two more months of rehab. Demi checked into a facility at the beginning of August, and she has no plans to leave until the new year. She’s looking at at least five months in treatment. The source doesn’t say when in the new year Demi will be leaving. But there is a possibility that Demi might not be packing up her bags as Ryan Seacrest starts counting down from 10 on New Year’s Eve. Which is to say, she could stay longer than just five months.

In the meantime, she’s also in the process of selling her house. Demi’s mother mother Dianna De La Garza kind of confirmed what ET’s source said during a recent episode of the Conversations with Maria Menounos podcast. Dianna said Demi is officially 90 days sober, and adds, “I couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of her, because addiction, being a disease, it is work.

As far as Demi’s career goes, she’s not missing much on the outside. Musicians are fighting with shoe companies and having red hat identity crises and debating how many women they’ve put their penises inside. Really, Demi – stay inside as long as you want. It’s a mess out here.
