Authorities Have Made An Arrest In Connection With The Pipe Bomb Packages
After two disturbing days full of news about suspicious packages containing homemade pipe bombs being mailed to several high-profile Democratic politicians and Trump haters, reports are rolling in from everywhere that the so-called MAGAbomber has been arrested.
The New York Times says federal authorities arrested a 56-year-old man named Cesar Sayoc Jr. today at a business in Plantation, FL, just north of Miami. The arrest happened just hours after several new packages were discovered, one to US Senator Cory Booker and one to former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. The total number of packages delivered to Democratic politicians and supporters has totaled 12. That white van in the picture above allegedly belongs to Cesar, and to say it’s a mess is an understatement. I once saw a van at a swap meet in Florida that was covered with janky hand-painted Juggalo imagery that gave me less of the creeps than Cesar’s van does.

CNN reports that the van was towed away to an FBI field office in Miramar, FL. Law enforcement sources say that the packages originated in Florida, with some passing through a US Postal Service facility in Opa-locka. Opa-locka is reportedly where the FBI intercepted the package addressed to Corey Booker. The FBI wouldn’t give too many details about the arrest or the van, but they would confirm that some of the suspicious packages had “obviously” been through the US Postal System.
Trump held a press conference shortly after the arrest was made.

Onto Cesar himself. TMZ has some info on him. Police sources say that Cesar is from Aventura, FL, and has an extensive criminal history. In 2014, Cesar was on probation for battery and grand theft. He has been to at least one Trump rally, but is possibly a regular attendee. The Daily Beast says that Cesar was active on Twitter, where he spent most of his time hissing pro-Trump content and making threats to Democratic leaders. And by the looks of this older mugshot, he’s also got a hairline that would make Ron Popeil weep.

TMZ says he also used to work as a tour manager for Chippendales. Someone who worked that closely with Chippendales should know that the only explosive package that should ever be delivered by surprise is one that comes attached to a stud in a bow tie.
