Victoria Beckham Would Love It If Mel B Would Shut Up About That Spice Girls Reunion
I like to think that’s the same “This shit again?” look Victoria Beckham gives every time she’s informed that Mel B has opened her mouth again and blabbed about a Spice Girls reunion. For months – nay, years, Mel B has been promising a Spice Girls reunion. According to The Sun, Posh is getting sick of hearing about it.
Mel B told Hoda Kotb in June that despite what Victoria said, a Spice Girls tour is coming. Whatever the truth is, a source tells The Sun that Victoria is “furious” that Mel B keeps promising a Spice Girls tour. Victoria was apparently so sick of Mel’s PR about this alleged tour, she confronted Mel B and asked her to stop right now. The source says Victoria was open to a reunion in which they might “celebrate” the group’s work, but that going on the road for a multi-city tour was out of the question.
Victoria also hates that whenever Mel B brings up the idea of a tour or a reunion, it’s always accompanied by the implication that there’s one Difficult Spice in a little Gucci dress who prevents things from going forward. Like when Mel B played coy and acted like the Spice Girls would perform at Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s wedding. The source says that Victoria knew the Spice Girls weren’t going to perform at the wedding, and when it was revealed they wouldn’t be, it was assumed that she was the reason the idea was killed.
I was hoping one of these dramatic Posh vs. Scary fights might play out in public (and I’m picturing the inclusion of neon robes, of course). But apparently all their communication happens over email, because Victoria is worried Mel B might blab about anything said in private. Victoria has also asked Geri Halliwell, Mel C, and Emma Bunton, to help reign in Mel’s constantly-chattering mouth.
I’ve got terrible news for Victoria; the only way Mel B is going to stop talking about this Spice Girls tour is if a doctor wires her mouth shut. My suggestion to Victoria is that she leans into it, but with a small catch. Mel B can run her mouth off, just so long as she also repeatedly mentions that Victoria’s marriage is perfect. If Mel B wants this tour to happen, she’s got to scratch a couture-covered back or two.
