Megyn Kelly Saw Her Opportunity To Get Her Shit Show Some Attention In The Most Petty Way Possible And Took It!

The ratings for Megyn Kelly’s boring flop show on Today are reportedly up by 22 percent in total viewers since October, and I guess she’s got pressure to keep it up. Megyn was probably going to try to keep her ratings up by bringing on the real Santa Claus and getting his DNA tested so she can finally prove that he is 100% white, but she didn’t need to do that. Because Jane Fonda gave her a ratings gift. Jane made fun of Megyn Kelly in her own house last week, and she responded this morning by bringing Hanoi Jane into it. The part of me that lives for ice cold cunt pettiness is slow clapping for Megyn for making that pathetic and nonsensical move. The other part of me is grabbing the popcorn and not-so-patiently waiting for Jane to torch a trick.

Jane and Megyn’s feud (or whatever you call it) goes back to the debut week of Megyn’s show in September. Jane was on Megyn Kelly Today with Robert Redford to talk about their movie Our Souls at Night, which is about two oldies who fall in love. Megyn brought up how Jane once said that she wasn’t proud of how she’s been open about getting plastic surgery. Megyn asked why she’s not proud, and Jane nearly melted the plastic in Meygn’s nose with a death glare. Jane shot back with, “We really want to talk about that now?” Jane later told ET Canada that it was a weird thing for Megyn to bring up since the question had nothing to do with her movie.

Megyn didn’t say anything about Jane’s comments and their feud was dead until last week. Jane was on Today with Lily Tomlin to promote the new season of Grace and Frankie. While answering a question about how long they’ve known each other for, Lily joked, “Before your first facelift.” To which Jane responded with, “Who are you, Megyn Kelly?

Jane shanked Megyn again in an interview with Variety by saying that Megyn isn’t a very good interviewer. But Jane said she’d go on Megyn’s show again if, “she comes around and learns her stuff.

Well, the chances of Jane going on Megyn’s show again are about as slim as Megyn successfully proving to us that she’s likable and doesn’t have the personality of wet lint. Toward the end of her show today, Megyn responded to Jane’s comments (which is understandable), but she went way left by delivering a peak mean girl rant. Megyn said that the plastic surgery question she asked Jane wasn’t irrelevant since Our Souls at Night is about aging. Megyn showed old clips and quotes of Jane talking about plastic surgery, and then she reached so far that she probably touched an alien’s ass by bringing up “Hanoi Jane.” Because you know, Hanoi Jane, which Jane Fonda says she regrets, has a lot to do with her not liking a plastic surgeon question that Megyn asked. You can take the mess out of Fox News…

Look, I gave her a chance to empower other women, young and old, on a subject which she purports to know well, and she rejected it. That’s okay. But I have no regrets about that question, nor am I in the market for a lesson from Jane Fonda on what is and is not appropriate. After all, this is a woman whose name is synonymous with outrage.

Look at her treatment of our military during the Vietnam War. Many of our veterans still call her Hanoi Jane. Thanks to her radio broadcasts, which attempted to shame American troops, she posed on an anti-aircraft gun used to shoot down our American pilots. She called our POWs hypocrites and liars, and referred to their torture as understandable. Even she had to apologize years later for that gun picture, but not for the rest of it. By the way, she still says she is not proud of America. So the moral indignation is a little much. She put her plastic surgery out there. She said she wanted to discuss the plight of older women in America. And honestly, she has no business lecturing anyone on what qualifies as offensive.

And if you want to see Megyn Kelly take Matt Lauer’s place as the Master of Smug on Today, watch as she thinks she’s nailing this read against Jane.

While I would love to curl up to my monitor and roast marshmallows on the rage of flames shooting out of Jane as she takes down Megyn for once and for all, she shouldn’t do that. Megyn is probably screaming at her interns and assistants to furiously refresh Jane Fonda’s Twitter because she can’t wait for a scathing response so she can respond to that on her show and get more attention. So if Jane’s asked about this, she should really piss Megyn off by simply saying, “Who?
