George Clooney And Rande Gerber Will Be Neighbors Again

George Clooney and his BFF Rande Gerber are the kind of best friends that make tequila together and live right next door to each other in Mexico. Sadly, they recently sold their twin villas in Cabo, which means George and Rande have to pack up their private telephone line, aka the tin cans attached to 30ft of string that Amal Clooney was nice enough to help them make. The good news is they’ll have a new place for them. Page Six says that both George and Rande recently purchased fancy condos in the same building in NYC.

Rande and his wife Cindy Crawford reportedly bought an identical unit to one George and Amal recently bought in a building that looks like a tall crystal SunChip at 100 E 53rd Street.

Apartments in the building, which should be completed next year, start at around $2.6 million. That seems like a steal for New York, but to put things in perspective, the penthouse is going for $65 million. They also say that a 3-bedroom unit on the 49th floor is going for almost $15 million. Neither couple bought the penthouse.

Page Six says that George and Amal bought a “high floor” unit, and Rande and Cindy bought the unit directly above them.

A source says George and Amal decided to purchase a new apartment there because it’s close to the United Nations and Columbia Law School, where Amal is teaching. Meanwhile, Rande and Cindy probably bought theirs because who wouldn’t want to live one floor up from their best friend? George and Rande made $100 million from the sale of their conjoined Mexican villa. Just think of all the awesome best friend stuff they could buy with that money! I bet the first thing they install is a platinum-plated tube slide connecting Rande’s house to George’s, followed by a $550,000 diamond dinner bell for Cindy to ring when it’s time for Rande to come home.
