And yes, I put on my Hedda Hopper flower hat to type “star of stage and screen,” but that’s exactly what the great Carole Cook was. Carole Cook’s talent touched several generations throughout her 60+ career with her performances in The Lucy Show (1960s), Kojak (1970s), Sixteen Candles and American Gigolo (1980s), and Home on the Range and Grey’s Anatomy (2000s). Carole’s husband of 58 years, Tom Troupe, shared the sad news that she died of heart failure in Beverly Hills, CA yesterday. Carole was 98.

Anita Pointer Of The Pointer Sisters Has Died At 74

Right before 2022 took its final bow and exited stage left, we were hit with more sad news and learned that we’d lost another Pointer Sister. Sadly, Anita Pointer, one of the founding members of the legendary Pointer Sisters, died on the last day of 2022. Anita’s death is one for the already-over-flowing Fuck Cancer files since she died after a long battle with cancer. Anita was 74.

The One And Only Barbara Walters Has Died At 93

Sadly, it feels like this time of year is when we lose many legends. And yesterday, we lost yet another icon who redefined every synonym for trailblazer. Barbara Walters died at her home yesterday. Her spokesperson confirmed the news with this statement:

“Barbara Walters passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists but for all women.”

Barbara Walters was 93.

Stephen “tWitch” Boss Has Died At 40

This morning, many of us woke up to the beyond tragic and shocking news that Stephen “tWitch” Boss, dancer, actor, and choreographer who was on So You Think You Can Dance and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, has died. TMZ reports that he died by suicide. Allison Holker, his wife and mother of their three children, released a statement confirming the horrible news:

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us. Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.

To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.

Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”

Stephen Boss was only 40 years old.
