The Rock Got More Than Double What Emily Blunt Was Paid For “Jungle Cruise”
Can you smell what The Rock is cooking? Pay discrepancy! The Rock is making gobs of cash these days as an actor, and his movies tend to do well, which is why he’s paid so much. He’s teaming up with Emily Blunt for Disney’s live-action Jungle Cruise– and he will make $22 million from the flick while Emily is ONLY walking away with $9 million.
TMZ says The Rock is the second-highest paid movie star (after Daniel Craig and his James Bond cash) and is known for being able to draw eyeballs (and Vin Diesel feuds) to franchises like Fast & Furious as well as other blockbusters like Moana. Now, lest we forget Emily is currently driving up box office haul with Mary Poppins Returns, is a Golden Globe winner, AND is responsible for 85% of the GIFs I send thanks to her being in The Devil Wears Prada. Oh well, it doesn’t seem like Emily is THAT pissed over the $13 million discrepancy:
Her whole “cast that trains together, stays together” mentality might be all fine and well, but wouldn’t training be easier if you knew your ass was making as much as the walking steroid running lines one trailer over? Pay discrepancy is increasingly becoming an awkward hot topic in Tinseltown these days. When it turned out Mark Wahlberg was paid $1.5 million for reshoots in All The Money In The World after Michelle Williams did them for essentially nothing, Mark was seen as an even bigger turd burger than most people already took him to be. He eventually donated the $1.5 millionto #TimesUp. Let’s see if that legal defense fund gets a $13 million belated Christmas present from The Rock. I’m only kidding – that’s probably already been spent on protein powder at his neighborhood GNC.
